I don't like how the board is built into the site like with the navigation on the side, etc. I think it should be on its own. It would look nicer. Plus I have to scroll across always. Kelliefans.com and Carriefans.com are great examples. I think this board could be so much bigger if it was like those. What kind of board is this?

Thanks for your suggestion. The website is built for screen resolutions of 1024 X 768 and greater. Your resolution is probably 800 X 600, which is why you have to scroll right to left. Most people's screens are 1024 X 768 and greater, so that is what i built the site for. If you would like to change your resolution, you can right click on the desktop, go to properties, click on settings tab, and slide the resolution tab over.

This really is a great site good visual appeal...good content...something for everyone...when people were talking about a particular video clip of Kat, I'd run around the net tying to find it until I realized the extent of the content you had right here on the site (Oh Auntie Em...there's no place like Home..").

 

One feature I found at Idol Me that was helpful was the ability to hit a Preview Post tag that allowed you to see a sample of the your post; edit as you wished; and if you were satisfied, then you hit Post Reply and the message gets posted. Your site has the ability to Edit after you post, so corrections can be made, but the option to Preview prior to posting seems to save time.

Yes Preview is coming very very soon. I put in the request a while back. I also put in request for an Image and Link button, as well as a better approach to quotes. They can get very messy.

Love the site Chad, the framework seems to work well and is pretty stable for a beta.

Just one suggestion: We need more Kat! Any way of working pics or blends of Kat into the top of the forum pages? It's pretty bland and non-descript now. We want visitors to see at a glance who this site is dedicated to.

Yes I agree with you Bill. I am actually working on another "skin" for the site(it will support 800x600). I hope to have it ready over the weekend. I am not a fan of the sites that look like a big blend - I like my sites to sleek and professional. But yes there needs to be more Kat, and hopefully I can give everyone something they will really like.

I do agree that the forum should be on its own. As the Katharinefans.com keeps growing, we will certainly need a full forum like that sooner or later.

Okay, I'm gonna be honest as a user of this forum. This forum is cool, but it definitely needs some improvements.
1. I found it a bit not user-friendly when I need to include a picture in my post. Usually we just need to put , but I think this tag not works for this site? (Is it just me? Cuz I tried it before).

2. Sometimes after I clicked "submit", it led me to a page where it says "Forum error" or something like that. I went back to the thread again and found my post was there. Hmm.

3. I use Firefox but sometimes I can't see people's info on the left side of post, even I refreshed it several times. Anyway it would show up again some time later. Hit "Refresh" is just a temporary solution, some people just prefer IE/AOL to Firefox.

4. The script this forum is using hates me I guess. Sometimes it hung my browser (it usually happens when I click the smilies beside the message box), but luckily it did pop up a message to ask me to "stop script", or I'd would have to close the entire browser.

5. No message preview?

6. Funny thing is, after 1 hour I signed off the site, when I come back as a visitor, I still see my name in the online list.

Okay just my 0-cent worth. I like this site, that's why I'm being honest and want this forum to be one of the best forums online.

1. If you use [ img]link[ /img] with no spaces, it will display your picture.
2. There are errors with this site because it is beta, which basically means untested. Improvements are coming with the errors. They are mostly caching issues.
3. The post info problem is a caching issue. Again, this will hopefully be fixed in the next framework release.
4. If your web browsing is slow anyways because of your connection (cause you are in asia), it can pose a problem. This may or may not be solved. I know that I come here more than anyone and I might get 1 error all day long. The website is actually on a server in Nebraska and I am in Virginia, so there is a quite a bit of distance between.
5. Message preview and other things that are more IDF like are coming. I requested them long ago. Better quoting, an image and link button, more smilies etc. I am trying to get this forum to be as close to IDF as possible. I am also going to implement PMs.
6. The 1 hour thing is because once you come to the site, you are in cache. Again, it is a caching issue.

I am glad you are being honest. That is what I need to make the site better.

Actually I have no speed problem with browsing this site. Sometimes it's even faster than IDF and Carriefans.com. It's "script" thing that caused a little problem to my browser sometimes.

Thanks Chad for letting us know more features will be implemented in this site! Appreciate your hard work on Katharinefans.com.
