I love the way Randy kept saying how, out of everyone that's been on the show, Kat and Elliott were the ones who could sing anything you gave them and how great they both are. It was also sweet the way Kat gave kudos to Elliott for sounding so good. She's a sweetie. It will be a wonderful surprise if we get to see the two of them perform the song at the end of this season.

uplink2, Randy Jackson has a lot of juice, and it will be great to see Katharine and Elliot have fun on the climb up the ladder. Maybe another song togeyher? What do you think uplink? Ps-Katharine and Elliot are great together, and Katharine is really modest.
Finally got around to listening to Katharine's "new friends"...Ingrid Michaelson and "Room for Two". I really enjoyed them and can understand why Katharine is so excited about them. Ingrid reminds me just a little bit of Carol King when she first came out. In particular, the content of her songs, and her way of performing (the phrasing) the songs more than the actual sound of her voice. I love Carol's Tapestry album! She had such a diversity to her songs....some innocent and sweet, some driving and earthy, but always true to her views of life.
Listening to those new artists (well, new to me at least)performing voices and style, along with excellent writing capabilities, I can certainly imagine Katharine singing any of the songs they have written.
Plenty of room for our girl to shine by adding her own "Katharinesque" style!
IMO, the songs I've listened to by Ingrid Michaelson and Room for Two, are in a good "middle of the road" music genre and should appeal to the masses!.....very good for those sale numbers! Remember "Black Horse in a Cherry Tree" and then switching to her hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Over the Rainbow", not to forget "Someone to Watch Over Me", "Come Rain or Come Shine"?, All of her duets with Andrea Bocelli and of course, the latest duet with Elliott just re-emphasizes Randy Jackson's remark of "she (they) can sing anything thrown at her (them)!!
Too bad AI producers have never "tapped" those kind of artists to pen the AI Finale Song performed by the last two contestants! The songs they have written and the list of artists that have performed the songs written for them by Kat's "new friends" is pretty impressive!
Gee, she has been in NYC for quite a while now. Have to hope it's because she's been recording and gathering new material to bless us with!
Happy Mother's Day to all who are blessed with the title!
