You are quite correct. And remember that the difference between her digital dales being at #28 versus where she was last week at #46 is about 14 million AIs (which is 3 million more AIs than what she is getting from her total spins right now). Again, that is the difference, not the total. The total AIs she generates from the #28 position is about 64 million, yes 64 million (6.4 times the AIs she is getting form her spins. So those digital sales are super important!  So though some of her recent publicity with TRL and Tyra is not really showing up in a lot of new spins, it is showing up in keeping her digital sales decent. Remember the prior week and a half her digi sales were down in the 60s. So keep it up Kat!

Does anyone have a more recent copy of the detailed MediaBase Spin Report for Katherine that was posted a few weeks ago? It showed all the stations currently playing her, # of spins for LW and TW, the change (+, -) etc...
That was a really great chart that I used for calling in requests to radio stations... Thanks

It is looking good.  

Over It is losing spins in New York on Z100 and gaining enough elsewhere to more than compensate for it.  That is a healthy trend.  She needs to get more widespread play.  That is going to be key in moving Over It up the charts.  If she can get high enough those New York spins should come back to her at some point.

---dbroom-Are the stations listed the only ones that can count towards spins? I have really been "working on" the stations in my area (Seattle-Tacoma WA) since Over It was first released .. As of a couple of days ago, one of the stations on the list doesn't even have it yet. However 3 of the other stations here- NOT ON THE LIST-- FINALLY started playing it.. Each played it one or more times the last 3 days. How many spins does it have to have to count or won't those stations ever count ? LINDA

I have started adding a few stations that do not count towards spins, but yes in general, the only stations on my list are the ones Billboard counts for spins. Even some of the Mediabase stations do not count towards spins (10% of their POP stations and 25% of their HAC stations). Billboard uses the Nielsen BDS system. So if the station is not on my list, or has an asterisk, it does NOT count towards chart spins. And it doesn't matter how many spins, they either all count or they don't. HOWEVER, remember that each time a station plays OI, people hear it, whether it counts toward chart spins or not. The more times people hear it the better the chances that they might download the single or buy the album. As well, the more it is spinning at all stations, the more it will spread. So keep up the requesting even if it does not count towards spins.

Excellent point Doug! We musn't lose sight of the goal here, being more radio exposure, which brings new fans and sells more albums. Spin count and MediaBase rankings is just an indication of how well we're doing promoting Kat . It's not like we're playing some arcane game to get kat to the top of the chart.

Thanks dbroom--Don't worry I won't stop making requests.! I just wanted to know more about what the chart represented, and why some stations were on it and some not. Of course--the more Kat is heard everywhere the better!!.

Last weekend was very good.  Getting on Ryan's top forty show (and I have no doubt that was what Ryan was waiting for so his spin would take her into the Top 40) was huge, the station adds are up, a House Party spin on Saturday ( and on the show Saturday next).  This is the move that we have been waiting for, start requesting on those newly added stations ASAP.  Positive feedback to the DJ after the spin isn't a bad idea either if you happen to hear it or see that it is recently played.

Did Seacrest play OI this weekend? I listened to the last three hours of AT40 and didn't hear it.

I also note that OI is not listed in the AT40 at their website - is that in the cards for next weekend?
