Oh and a high school radio station played SOTR this morning. New Albany High School in Indiana. The stations YES tracks amazes me.
On this weeks Top40 SA chart for the fourth week in a row Kat has 2 songs charting. Over It is still hanging on at #40 and Love Story has climbed to #19!!! The only other artists with 2 songs on that chart are Rhianna and Timberland!! OI went #1 on this chart and now Love Story has gone top 20!! SA definitely still loves Kat!! http://www.take40sa.co.za/

Love Story is a hit in South Africa. It is finally on Highveld Stereo's Top 8 @ 8 . It is charting at #9 on the weekly Top 40 show here but this is last weeks chart. The new one hasn't been updated. It is amazing how much more successful this song was outside the US.

Also they haven't updated the Top 40 posting on the web yet but looking at the station log on YES it looks like Love Story may be up to at least #4 and possibly as high as #2 last saturday. That is up from #9 It is interesting to hear them talk about her with the heavy South African accents.
I so don't get why LS didn't make it here. How could it possibly make it in another country with no RCA support but not here? Maybe someone will perform one of her songs on AI this year and her album will pick up...doubtful though. My son's friend didn't "like" Kat when her cd first came out, I guess all the negativity. Anyway, I played EIG and Neglected one day and she was hooked. Last night she asked me to play the cd and told me she likes EVERY song! BTW, she is 18. These songs really seem to resonate with girls who have been treated badly in relationships which is so common at these ages. DANG! I sure wish we could get EIG or NEG out there
Love Story is getting recognition elsewhere- that's mighty fine. It should also be just fair when american counterparts do the same of other international artists. After all, music is universal. Nice find. And, it is not actually too surprising for me to learn something like this of Kat's songs because she is great., in the first place. It's just sometimes we coud be victims of circumstances - too complicated to comprehend, and all that we could blame is the unpredictability of the music industry, or the choice of songs- which is why it didn't ring too loudly right away at home.
Kat's got some real seductive dancing moves, kinda, and that will surely help her with her singing career - in concerts and sorts.
