Since we've actually got something to report now and since I couldn't resist Minnie asking to do this with the aid of Katharine's irresistible pucker face from the BlackBerry thing...here we go.  I'm including a little Over It stuff at the bottom as well since there's something fun from Canada to report.

There’s a decent chance that Love Story will crack the Top 100 on US Top 40 tomorrow. It didn’t have any spins last Saturday so every spin today adds to the total on the chart which should make it easy to move up.

Here’s some interesting news from Canada!
 
Canadian HAC: #41 (UP from #44 last week…Over It has gained 12 spins this week in Canada).
 
Of course Over It is no longer charting in the United States as it has gone recurrent.
 
Couple notes on Over It. On Wednesday it was played for the 1,000th time on Star 101 in San Francisco. There’s a chance it’ll get played for a thousandth time on KZHT in Salt Lake City as well (needs 27 more).
 
Also, KZZU in Spokane played Over It for the first time on Thursday. That marked the 200th station monitored by Mediabase to play Over It. So a couple of nice milestones for Kat’s first single.
 
I think that covers everything. I’m not as good of a cheerleader as Bill but I’ll give you plenty of information.

I'll add my little stations chart for first spins to this thread...just think it's interesting to see when each one plays it first compared to what they did with Over It.

I heard Love Story being played over the intercom in a store and a girl who worked there singing it...that was before the official release date, it was so cute to hear her singing it.   

Also, I e-mailed Sylvia Chacon and Star 101.3 and she has talked with her station manager and they don't have the LS single yet      Star 101 is a HUGE American Idol support station here in the Bay Area so I'm surprised...it will show up though I'm sure of that!

BTW...I played most of Kat's songs for three 18-year-old girls and here was their response.

Really liked Love Story, Dangerous...one girl liked, Over It they know already and love!  Open Toes...NO!

I am 47 and have my opinions but it was interesting to get a feel from some young girls as I only have boys and the one who listens to music the most (18) listens to metal

Could you please clarify what you mean by "Over It" going recurrent. It seems to have disappeared from the air waves altogether around here.

Thanks Joe, what a superb job you did on the AI 6 season pool. Thanks for starting this thread for "Love Story"... and it's great to see your charting skills put to use here too.  Kudos to Bill  and Doug who are also contributing so much to our interest in the numbers!!

LS jumping from #160 to #108 in the last week is great news.

OK, Danette, I've also e-mailed Sylvia who said a lot of requests are coming in for LS. It is fab news that KIOI has supported Kat and played OI 1000+ times!!!
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

It means that it's been on the chart for 20 weeks.  If a song has been on the chart for 20 weeks and isn't either gaining spins or in the Top 20 it gets removed from the list.  For example, Daughtry's "It's Not Over" will finally get taken off the chart this week since it's fallen out of the Top 20 in radio airplay.  It's been on the chart for almost 30 weeks I think.  Longer than that probably actually.  Since November.  Wow, that's 7 months.

Yesterday:  KIOI (San Francisco), KZHT (Salt Lake City), Des Moines (KSTZ), Trenton (WPST), St. Louis (KYKY), Allentown (WAEB), Kansas City (KMXV), Seattle (KBKS), Melbourne (WBVD), Hartford (WKSS).  Then non-Mediabase stations like Omaha (KFRX), Roanoke (WWZW), Lafayette (KOGM).  And it's getting good play in South Africa...LOOK:

So now all nine of the adds listed on AllAccess have spun Love Story at least once.  It’ll be interesting to see how many stations are on the list next week.  We’ve already got a few stations not listed as adds (WXXX, WSSX) going at a decent rate so those will probably be there.  Hopefully she’ll get more than 9 this week.

So Love Story has cracked the Top 100!  Baby steps up the chart.
 
One other chart note.  Love Story now appears on the Jump list on AllAccess. It’s the 38th fastest mover up the charts at +51 (I know the numbers don’t match…60 & 10 is 50.  Those are the monitored stations.  Her overall is 62 & 11 for the last two weeks.  I don’t get why they don’t use one set of numbers but whatever!
 
I’ll leave Over It out.  Nothing much to report there.  Just a reminder.  It’s important to request everywhere but it’s really important to request to stations that have ALREADY PLAYED Love Story.  Because you can tell them you heard it and you really loved it.  Act like it’s the first time you’ve heard it before.   It’s much more convincing!  At least in these early days.  When we get to the stages of trying to get it on the top of the Z100 countdowns and others like it that act won’t play but for now…it’s a good tactic.

That's a good way to see how these songs will do.  Pop stations covet Females 12-24.  It's their most important demographic.  So if they are loving Love Story that's a good sign.

Random...my parents went on a trip to Nevada to visit some family last weekend and I left a copy of Kat's CD in the car for them to listen to.  My Dad (who likes nothing current) really liked Love Story.  He didn't understand what Kat was singing about on Open Toes though.  Haha.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON UPDATES 6/3/07

I see we have a new thread for Love Story!!

The sunday afternoon updates have happened and Love Story is now up to #96 on Top 40 and #101 on Canadian HAC. She will be top 100 there tomorrow as 2 songs above her are dropping and they are only 1 spin ahead.
Also with these updates Love Story is now the #9 song on the Top 40 Taking Off chart! She is also the #38 song on the Top 40 Jump chart!!

These charts are only going to get even better these next few days!!!

Very exciting times ahead for Love Story!!

Remember folks, most of the time when a radio station says "they don't have it", it means it hasn't been added to their playlist and they are not allowed to play it. Not that they physically don't have the single. The DJ's have a list of approved songs and if it isn't on that list then they "don't have it".

I see Bill updated the updates (ha, I just edited my daily report to reflect the afternoon update).  Two extra spins showed up in the afternoon update plus the recurrents were taken away so up to #96 now.
