OVER IT IS THE #46 MOST PLAYED POP SONG OF 2007!! According to the AllAccess site which uses Mediabase reporting stations, Over It is the #46 most played song of 2007 on Pop radio so far. This includes both "currents AND recurrents" so all songs played are included!! Seeing that it wasn't officially released to radio until Jan 15th, and being a new artist January was slow to build, these are pretty amazing numbers! On their list of reporting stations: Kat charts like this monthly on the Pop chart. Total Apr Mar Feb Jan 46 KATHARINE MCPHEE Over It 20456 4809 9493 4822 1332 When you sort by month here are the results for the past three months (excluding January her debut month). Feb Mar Apr 50 32 21 So far for the month of April, Over It is the 21st most played song in the country on Pop radio!!! Pretty amazing!!! OVER IT IS A HIT SINGLE KAT FANS!!!
Over It is definitely a hit single with a pretty popular video as well. The longer OI is sustained on the top 100, the chances of releasing a new single are diminished. They will not release another track until Over It has waned in popularity. The next single will have to be considered a fresh summer song. Now it may not be until July. RCA ultimately makes the final decision in that matter, of course, with appropriate input from the artist.
Having one hit single will ultimately help all other singles excel since people are beginning to know Katharine McPhee as a popular artist.
JULY? I don't think so. Single #2 will be released sometime in early May I would guess. Over It dropping fast this week on the radio. I wouldn't be stunned to see the first spins for the next single start showing next week with an official add date of say May 8 or 15.
Another reason I say this...the station in Sacramento has totally dropped OI and SHE'S PERFORMING ON THEIR RADIO SHOW! So they have a vested interest in having her on the station but they obviously feel OI has run its course. So what I'm saying here is....single #2 needs to get movin'. It would definitely be nice to know what in the room it's going to be. Daughtry's fans all knew "Home" was next about a month before it happened.
Oh...nice to see that info I sent you Bill went to good use.
