OK, KMFers, McPhans, KatPackers & all other Kat Lovers..... The chips are DOWN! Today (2/28) on TRL Beyonce announced her World Premiere of a new video with Shakira ....and Hilary Duff (can she really sing?) recaptured #1! But Kat, thanks to her beautiful debut video and our intensive voting efforts, now has #2!!! I was awake thru many of the "wee" hours last night voting massively –like we did last year during American Idol ....at MTV/TRL, VH-1, XM radio, etc –and I’m sure that was the case for many of you. But now we all need to publically commit to spending some of our "wee" hours tonight (& the next several days & nights) to be SURE Kat’s gorgeous new "Over It" video hits #1 at TRL & VH-1 ....and stays there as long as possible!
There’s a spectacular career launch happening as we watch, so let’s all be a part of it, OK?!? No kidding, Kat’s budding career is of historical importance to the performing arts world --in ways only luminaries like Andrea Bocelli, Clive Davis, David Foster and a few others like us, her "hard-core" fans, are even aware of today! But her success is largely in OUR HANDS right now! So team ....IT’S "PUBLIC PLEDGE" TIME!
I’ll go first. I pledge to spend not less than 2 full hours/day voting for Kat’s "Over It" Video (& Single) at online sites and/or on local radio request phone lines during the night tonight and again tomorrow and tomorrow night for each of the next several (3/11 EDIT: WEEKS, until TRL "retires" OI) and to vote as much and as fast as I can during that time every day & night.

"Kat needs your help! Her new single, Over It, is currently being voted on at trl.mtv.com and vh1.com. It is very important to keep her on these shows because it exposes her to millions that may not have heard it on the radio yet. Which brings me to the other thing Kat really needs - radio exposure! We really need to come together and request her on the radio. I live near DC and have not heard her once on 99.5, which is the largest POP station in this area. She is doing really well in NYC thanks to you guys in that area. So let's get behind her like we did last year for her in AI5!

WOW, help me out somebody! It's been over an hour and we've had over 50 hits on this thread, and over 130 fans of Katharine online, but NO ONE has made a public pledge to spend a little of their time voting for Kat?!?!
I'm really disillusioned and I'm wondering if you guys know someting I don't?!? Should I give up too? I'm not asking for a pledge like at church --there's NO way we can check up on you, and there's NOTHING to lose! It's really a pledge to YOURSELF, not to anyone else, but saying you'll vote for Kat online could give you an added incentive to help Kat get to #1 at MTV/TRL, VH-1, XM Radio, etc!!! So help Kat out (not me) and let us know here that you'll be making a small sacrifice of time to make a BIG difference for her!!!
Wow, Phil. 2 hours?! That's dedication. It wasn't that big a deal to spend 2 hours voting for Kat on AI because it was only once a week, but this is every day. I don't know how much time I spend voting and requesting because I do it off and on throughout the night between checking the threads, and capping and downloading vids and stuff, but it's definitely substantial. So I pledge to keep that up and try to improve on that as well. If you'd like a number I'd say it's in the ballpark of an hour. The firefox thing worked well for the TRL voting, so I got in a bunch of votes over there earlier tonight, although I didn't keep count. And I make sure to hit up VH1, XM, Sirius and KIIS (which to my knowledge still aren't spinning "Over It"), and sending equests to various stations throughout the country, in particular Z100.
I think a thread like this is a good motivator though. I remember back when I first went online to the AI boards during last season. I was suprised to see so many people pledging to vote for the full 2 hours, recruiting people to vote, etc., and it got me to do the same. Before that it had never crossed my mind to spend 2 hours continuously voting, but it quickly became routine, and I even ended up switching to Cingular so I could text vote. When you're going out of your way to vote and request every night it makes it easier to know other people are doing the same.
