When you see an commercial for American Idol 2007 come on during the World Series and you freak out because you see Katharine for about a half-second doing her "Hound Dog/All Shook Up" performance.

 

When you see a (an?) commercial for American Idol 2008 come on during the World Series (or maybe it was football) and you freak out because you see Katharine for about a half-second with her arms outstretched during "Who Wants To Live Forever".  Anyone else see that?  Taylor?  Nope.  Chris?  No.  Elliott?  No.  Just Kat, Jordin and some random other people spliced into a bunch of clips.

You know you're addicted to Kat when:
- your brainwashed little sister heard a Whitney Houston song and said "This lady sounds just like Katharine McPhee!"
- your dad is clearing space in the DVR and asks if he can delete the Love Story music video. You then preceed to leapfrog the couch and yank the remote from his hand... (true story)
- you get "Dangerous" stuck in peoples' heads at vb practice for fun
- you're on the computer until 3 AM...and you have a class at 8
- you read an entire 39 page thread in one sitting- again!
- when you think it's weird your parents think it's weird to have an entire conversation about two chihuahuas
- you bought your friends hard copies of the CD instead of burning it, like you've done for every other CD you own...
- in Spanish class, you ask your teacher what "Somos Novios" means
- you have to listen to the whole album every night before you go to bed...and SOTR...and Me...and I Lost You...
- you have gone through all 20 of her pages on Google Images
- you know she has 20 pages on Google Images

No, there were two versions of this. I don't know which one was worse. This one is kind of like those Morphthing blends. Eventually I'll probably go back to Groucho and Blender-Cabaret-Kat. I like that one. Right now I'm just being on the McPhoster bandwagon for awhile. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW THIS ALBUM IS GOING TO TURN OUT!! But I will.

... Don's picture of Kat crawling out of the TV screen gives you the willies because it makes you remember the scary girl from "The Ring" that kills you in 7 days... but you don't care, because if Kat crawls out of your TV screen, you can deal with the willies.

you know you're addicted when:
- you don't care anything about football, but there's not a force in the universe that could tear you away from watching the beginning of the Lions/Packers game on Thanksgiving Day...
- you throw a fit cuz you're spending the night at your grandma's house and her computer's speakers aren't working, so now you can't hear Kat sing Over It acapella on YouTube!
- you hadn't ever heard of Rumer Willis or Anna Faris, but now you are glued to the tv every time you hear their name on some entertainment news show, in case they say something about IKWBL
- you call your friend's chihuahua "Nena" every time you see her even though you know that's not the dog's name...
- you can mentally replace any singer's voice in a song with Kat's and hear what she would sound like if she sang it...
- you took 15 pictures of the huge SexyHair poster you saw in a mall in Dallas last year, and still have all 15 of them on your phone
- you complain about having to read 20 pages for your Physics class but then get on the computer and read probably 40 pages' worth at Katharine McPhee fansites...
- you turned sneaking downstairs at 1:30 in the morning (30 minutes after your dad comes upstairs, just in case)into an art form. verrrrrrry slowly so you don't wake your parents (whose door is right next to the stairs, and always open) you walk on the right side of the staircase(because that's the side that doesn't squeak), crawl on your stomach to avoid the security monitor at the bottom of the stairs, take the long way around to the computer room (so you don't walk on the hardwood floors) open the door(only halfway, it squeaks too) turn off the speakers (%*#! pop-ups!) and get on the computer to catch up on all the latest Kat news...around 5:30, you sign off, and then click on your mom's desktop (so your screensaver won't pop up- a dead giveaway), turn the speakers back on, position the chair the way you found it (details, details!), slide through the door, and sneak back upstairs undetected... like a ninja! haha...

wow I've been gone for awhile...anyhow,
you know you're addicted when:
-you get grounded from all things electronic to infinity and beyond*, and yet here you are
-your basketball team has adopted "Dangerous" as the team song and is jokingly contemplating a halftime dance rountine to go along with it
-your radio station says "Home of the biggest stars" followed by "Katharine McPhee, blah blah blah, blah blah..."
-you still request "Everywhere I Go"
-you start humming "Open Toes" at the place you get your pedicures done (not me, my little sister. I'm so proud of her! ) until it gets stuck in the pedicurist's head
-you could swear that after Kat finished singing "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" on the Christmas In Washington tv special, the camera goes to the President and he turns to his wife and mouths "Kat's so good!". Then you rewind it, and play it in slow-mo just to be sure
-you've been dying of Kat withdrawal. It's so bad that you actually look forward to going grocery shopping with your mom just so you can sit in the car and sneak a listen to your iPod, which your mom has hidden in her wallet, in her purse, underneath the driver's seat since your grounded for all eternity*...

still grounded, btw... O;)
