First, let me just say that it's nice to get off those AI boards for a while and be able to speak my mind uncensored.  In my humble opinion, one of the things that AI will do for both of the Top 2 this year is vastly multiply what they already had.

Taylor came into this with a couple of independent label records and a decent following in his hometown area. Sure, Taylor will do alright for a while now. He's a charismatic guy with a passion for music. He'll probably guest star on a couple of sitcoms, maybe lampoon himself on Saturday Night Live. Make a bundle off his first one or two albums w/AI's help. Then he'll be doing what he did before -- touring and playing music, just on a larger scale. The albums will get samey, the fan following will wane.

Katharine, on the other hand, comes to this competition with more depth, versatility, and vocal talent. She is also very charismatic. And the difference with Kat will be her staying power. Kat phans know that Kat came into this competition with an Obie(?) award nomination for her stage acting, and an upcoming bit part in a motion picture under her belt. She has charmed the socks off of every interviewer who's met with her. And, just based on God Bless the Child, we knew that this girl was born with a real gift for song. Multiply all of THIS times 1,000,000 and that = a young lady (7 years younger than Taylor, in fact) who is a true star and will be a successful entertainer for a long, long time.


You nailed right on the head.  Katharine is going to win, and she will have shut Randy, Paula and Simon up.

tchorpen, its alright i don t have a life either,lol. that s interesting that you re gonna watch all kat and taylor performances back to analize them....will you post your thoughts about that after you re done? that d be great

also i see you ve met kat (at ndhs???)....have you posted your pic with her somewhere else already(bigger) ? i d really like to see it....and what was she t like....? i reeeeeally wanna know

There was an article in my newspaper today about former idols.   How some of them are making a name for themselves on Broadway.

It states that at first Idol was anti Broadway(telling Clay his voice is to Broadway  yea right!) and now a lot of them are making a big splash on Broadway.

It states Debra Bryd(vocal coach of AI) is telling contestants to explore more opportunities to have a wonderful career, don't just think "I want a hit record". 

It states that she(Debra) is already positioning Katherine as a Broadway prospect.  Bryd says she has real potential.

Katherine is an overall performer.  She will have a bigger career than Taylor.   Just watch!!!  Every producer that was on Idol this year, just praised Katherine.  Do you not think they see dollar signs in their eyes? 

I can't wait to see her with George Clooney!!

I'm being selfish when I say this but I have a problem with Broadway, and that is, we will never get to see her.  Don't people go on Broadway and dissappear for years at a time.

Admittedly I'm not dealing very well with prospect of not being able to see Kat every week.  She has been my entire life for months now.

Maybe someone can elighten me as to what her future has in store if she should choose to do Broadway.  Besides flying across the country once a year or twice if I can manage, how will I get enough of my Kat.  I am dying here.

BIGSHADY,don't worry to much. Kat looves broadway and she looves acting too,She's a total performer. She can sing,act,even broadway.If you're dying because you won't see her enough,me I live in the Philippines and will I have the chance to see her??My heart is breaking,I love Kat so much and I won't last a day without seeing her....

Guys..I really like all these messages  because it has shown  well documented information about these judges comments all along during intervews done to them and when they had criticize Kat after her performances.

I had watched Paular while Kat has been singing, and she is not paying any attention to her and when it is the moment to judge the singer performance, her word production comes out like she is under a heavy medication or something. Sometimes what she says is totally incoherent. She has expressed openly that she wants a guy to win this yr. She has never been so hard on a female contestant before. She even trash Simon when he was hitting Carrie Underwood hard with his stupid criticism last yr.

Randy is the one that has been more bias toward Kat. He even was mad when she sang a Whitney Houston song. This stupid jerk has been saying in all the interviews he has been that this yr. will win a guy.  He has criticize her for the song choices but never has been able to say something of her voice, because he knows that she has a better voice than the rest of the candidates.

Simon has been less hard on her than the other two.


The point is that their criticism has been on the choice of songs but not on her voice. BECAUSE THE STUPID JERKS KNOW THAT SHE HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE.


As to Taylor, these judges has never told him that he has such a great voice. None of them. Because Taylor has not a great voice. He only looks for songs that he can move and dance around. He can't reach a high pitch on soft and powerful songs. Has no power on that voice. I heard a music producer being interview and she said very clearly that if she was the one to offer a music contract to Kat or Taylor, she will choose Kat because of her voice and that she willl sell a lot of CD's. And this lady was a very important music producer in Hollywood.


So,,,,lets forget about these three stupid stooges and vote for Kat.

I don't think she was nominated for an Obie (off broadway), it was some kind of local award. Can't remember what though.

Versatility: that's what I see in Katharine that I don't in most of the other top contenders. Sure, I hope she doesn't wind up on Broadway forever, becauase my days of jetting off to NYC are probably over, but she can do that, she can tour with a B-way show, tour by herself, do records, do movies, do tv, do clubs, what can't she do? And within the recording genre, she can sing so many styles and do it all. Successful performers know how to keep their music current and keep finding new fan bases to add onto the old ones.
