voluptuous it is! ...but our girl has been working her ass off, i think! she's very much in shape and her skin color now is a bit tanned love that! the make up is getting better...and better ... if you saw that video clip of her on extra singing in ed's show ..she had come a longgg way! love kat!

We have to find ways to get a younger age group voting for her. I do think that her beauty holds her back but how sad. She is the perfect American Idol. An orginal, talented beauty. I would actually purchase her album. She is the only one.

It's not just her beauty. I believe it's also that she comes from a upper middle class Silicon Valley family, and has probably never wanted for anything her whole life. Jealousy comes in many different flavors...

How did this happen?

The simple answer is, she didn't get enough votes.

Why this is I find more difficult to answer.

What it seems to show to me is that she hasn't got a big fan base and regardless what she sings or how well, she is living on borrowed time. I can't see her going from the bottom 2 in top 10 week all the way to the Kodak Theatre; for some reason she's just not getting the votes.

I personally can't understand it because to me she's a class above the rest but maybe you guys look for different qualities to us in the UK.

Whatever happens I have enjoyed following her progress since the auditions and hopefully she will still get the chance to continue her music career after AI because I would be first in line to buy her CD. Some of the other contestants might be more exciting to watch but I know who I'd rather listen to on my car stereo; someone who can sing.

Come on America don't let the most talented singer in the competition go out, VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.

You probably have not read my post. If you go back to page 1 and read my post, you'll get the answer. Most of the Katharine fans are 30+ years old, not kids.

Hi everyone! My name is Frank and I have just come over from the Idolonfox. forums ...Just wanted you all to know that I am a devoted KAT fan who voted the whole 2 hours and got in 279 votes. I really liked her rendition of "The Voice Within" and also thought she would be safe. Im truly upset about her being in the bottom 3 and have dedicated myself to the 2 hours each and every week to get our idol to the title she so deserves.

I did miss your post Michael but having read it I have to accept that you make a very good point. The voting system as it is will always favour artists who attract the power voters, which I would imagine are mainly kids. This is unfortunate and somewhat unfair on contestants like Katharine who might actually have a larger fan base.

It's a shame because if this is the case, I can't imagine these kids going out and buying 1000 copies of their favourites CD when it comes out which means Katharine would probably have a more successful career post Idol.

Andrew, that is exactly what I said. But someone pointed out to me that on CarrieFans.com, a lot were saying they were going to be buying 20 CD's, or power buying, to help Carrie! Craziness.

Pop - vera nice blend....I will be voting the entire 2 hour time, I refuse to hear that Daniel Powter "Bad Day" song with clips of Ms. Mcphee whizzing by...screw that.

I have gotten through plenty of times before the show is even over. Do you all think those count?

Yeah, it's a nice blend BUT that's definitely one of the blends I would not want to put up or use. It shows our lovely girl at her most miserable moment. Every time I see, my heart breaks and hurts as if I was the one standing there. I'm sorry, it's just me.

I can relate to your post, I was so upset Tues. night and even Wed. even though she survived.  I remember Fantasia was in the bottom 3 two years ago, but I think that was with 6 left.  I voted at least 100 times.  She is just so much better than anyone.  I'm going to vote like crazy Tues. night.  Unfortunately, I think Bucky and Kellie are going to have a bit of an edge because it's Country night.

Yeah I think I read that some people were going to buy numerous copies of Carrie's album and I suppose a few of these "power voters" might purchase more than 1 copy of their favourites CD this season. However it still won't reflect the 1000's of votes they place each week on Idol and I'm still convinced Katharine woud out sell any of the other contestants by at least 2 to 1.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. My name is Wendy. I agree with what everyone is saying. I have liked Katharine since the beginning and I have been voting for her. I voted about 25 times this past week but I was confident that she was safe. I thought she had the best performance of the night and I was totally shocked when she was in the bottom 3 and even more shocked when Ace sat down and left her standing there. I was sure that Lisa would go home, but I couldn't believe that Kat was even in that position. She is so and we have to vote, vote, vote. I don't understand the power voting and don't know how I could ever get in 1,000 votes, but I will do better than 25 from now on. I believe that Kat does have what it takes to make it all the way to the Kodak. She is doing her part, now we all have to do our part in helping to get her there. As Larry the Cable Guy would say, let's "Get Er Done"!!!! Kat you are awesome, you rock!!! And I have caught the McPheeever!

Hiii Wendy and all. Now it's time for us TO GIT HER DONE!!!!!   I started at 5 minutes before the show ended I got through until about 5 after 8 then it was real busy for about 1/2 hour then the remainder of the two hours I got through almost every time. So not many people could have been voting.  I didnt stop, because I know other fans are doing the same thing.  The whole 2 hours its  IMPORTANT.

To be honest, I don't think there is any. Most people here in LA are pretty casual about AI. Out of the people I know, about 70% watch the show but not too many vote (maybe about 20%). Again as I said before, most of them vote about 1 to 2 times just to express their preference, that's it. Actually, I'm the only one who is that crazy (thanks to Miss McPhee) and I was never like that before. I didn't even pay attention to AI in the last 4 seasons. Maybe that's the reason most votes are coming from east coast.

 

In general, I think Katharine is the favorite (not because she's from LA but because she IS really good at singing) but still considered very insignificant compared to the populations from other states. I can only answer this with my own experience. I'm not generalizing for all Californians.

Some of the comments that mature people don't have the time to vote or voting once is enough is bogus. I am a 65 year fan whose lowest total this year has been 117 votes. Usually I'm between 220 and 250 votes. you just have to dedicate yourself to do what is necessary to keep Kat moving forward. Don't give me excuses, give me action. Dial and redial for two solid hours until the final then it will be four hours.

That is a very good point. When we get to the final 3, which is May 16th and 17th, Clive Davis will be joining Randy, Paula and Simon on the judges panel, and for that night, I believe there wll be 2 lines, with 3 hours to call for each of the 3 remaining finalists.

Another point is that Katharine has a fan base of just over 500. Kellie has a fan base of over 5000. That coupled with the fact that many of Katharine's fans thought she was safe. I know it shocked me. I stared at the TV is disbelief. I don't know how big the other contestants fan bases are but serious effort could overcome it. I have a feeling that Kellie's base is the highest. Iknow taylor has about 2000. So come on and pitch in, it is isn't over 'til its over.

If you look at Carriefans,com and Kelliefans they are at least set up by the same people. Quite a few of Carrie's fans went over to Kellie. So the situation is such that part of them will be for Kellie and part for Katharine and a large portion will not be for anybody. There is a good portion of that group that will be totally dedicated to Carrie and no one else. I hope you're right in your belief that there are other large groups of Kat fans elsewhere. But the real problem was that too many people took for granted that Kat would easily move on but that wasn't the case. This could work i n a postive fashion for all concerned, the fans as well as Kat. We have an uphill battle to fight and we can't let up.

Carrie65, yes its is correct, it is set up by the same people, and the majority of Kats fans are actually spreaded through out different places, because She doensnt yet have a good homebase for her fans. This is the time we should build a good home for kat, most of the Kat forums are active but poorly maintained. (meaning poor discussions such as too much focusing 'not' on her talent, you probably know what i mean)

We can do this, we can make this place her home.
