Apparently it has been reported that Katharine has not been receiving very high numbers of text votes, in comparison to the other contestants. I know we're really trying to promote text voting, so please know that it is VERY IMPORTANT! Word got out somehow that the other contestants are receiving lots higher numbers of text votes than she is. It has already been discussed on here how crucial the text votes are, so this is just a heads up! SHE NEEDS THOSE TEXT VOTES! If you can call in votes and text votes in too, she really needs it! Think: Top2, Top2, we've got to get her into the Top2!!!

Voting non text is faster though...because you can just hit redial. However, during that first 30-60min of voting when there are lots of busy signals, then I guess texting would be faster....

^ skatepixie, you're mistaken. Several of us here have telecommunications backgrounds & have carefully compared text voting speeds with conventional phone voting speeds. Texting has at LEAST a 10 to 1 advantage because there are never busy signals and ALL votes are counted. On my phone (RAZR) I can just keep hitting "resend" and not have to retype the message every time. So basically that's like "redial". I didn't have any text message package so I only texted 5 times (pay per use). But I am happy to report that I just signed up for the $2.99 service with unlimited texting for the first month. =D So maybe i'll continually hit resend for the entire 3 hrs of voting.

I heard that hitting resend just replaces the first vote and doesn't add up to it. This was a piece of information passed on by a Cingular representative. I really hope you do it the old fashioned way. Just keep on typing VOTE and sending it to Kat's number. Resending it might hurt her 'cause even if you do it for the whole 2-3 hours, you'll only be giving her just 1 vote.

If you were charged, maybe resending does work. I don't know completely since I'm not really a Cingular customer. I just read that piece of information from somebody who was able to contact Cingular before.

NO NO NO ... Do not keep hitting RESEND. Make a template that says "VOTE" it saves (actually 9) keystrokes each send. And use that template each time you re-load her# over and over (which is multiple recipients) That's the sure way and I have hundreds of pages in phone bills to prove how they get through from voting for Carrie last yr. I did it both ways just to test. ( i.e. each of my phones send 20 votes per send) then i have to re-load them and start all over. GET THE UNLIMITED PROMO AS LOW AS $2.99

You type in "vote" only once and "570X" only once, then (on most Cingular phones) just press one key several times in succession to vote SEPARATE, DISCRETE VOTES at a rate of about 10/minute!
