It did seem like Clive wanted Katharine to be showcased at the Carousel Ball.  Smart guy.  And she did her thing the best she can (looks, singing, personality, etc, etc).

Um, the one post about this being rushed and all the producers they are "shoving" at Katharine.  Ahem, this is what Katharine wanted.  Originally, the "shoving" was pushing her into a direction she didn't like.  She chose this R&B direction on her own.

If they go any lower, it'll make my over $25 order at Amazon (yes, I bought another item with Kat's pre-order totaling about $29) unable to get free shipping. I'd recommend buying one other thing (maybe even more of Kat's single) to get the order up to $25 so you can get that free shipping they offer for orders over that amount. Bought alone, you'll ultimately be paying more than the original retail price with the ridiculous shipping charges.

But thanks for the news they reduced the price. We could see $11.99 before long if the pre-orders keep moving on up. Though that seems almost too good to be true in price when most debut albums don't go that low. If Amazon manages it, they'll get the bulk of sales for sure. Barnes & Noble appears to rely on their 'money's no object' customers since they're keeping their price at around $17. There's actually quite a disparity between the customers at B&N and Amazon.

Anybody been reading or commenting on Amazon's message board for Kat's album? I see there's some heated arguments already starting in there that I've stayed away from for the time being. The reason I've stayed away is because some of the negative comments made by people in there are obviously beyond being uninformed and stupidity. Good job to Trist for giving some clever vitriol back to those idiots who seem to be residue from those who didn't or don't have a clue. I'll just go in and defend when I can actually have a good debate about something. I've had it wasting my time debating with people who don't even know how to create a debate.

I just hope that board is moderated to some degree. There's some nasty comments flung around in there sometimes. At least it's generally hidden--unlike the customer comments that aren't available to use yet on Kat's CD.

Nobody threw producers, timetables or song choices at Katharine. She seems to have full control. She started recording initially with a recent grammy-winning producer and wasn't happy, so she scrapped the entire idea, changed management and sought out the best producers in the business for the type of music she wanted to record. And what is wrtong with creating radio hits? That's what gets platinum records and grammies. The only thing she has said to date was that her album is "amazing". Let's not insult her by implying that others "forced" her to record what she did. At this point her album is not rushed. She seems to be thriving on the hard work and will probably turn out a masterpiece.

December 5th?  The Sony site said that last Friday and I assumed they'd know what they are talking about since...well, that's the umbrella Katharine falls under ultimately.  The same day as Taylor?  Why?  What else was scheduled for November 28th?  I just....I know want to hear all of the garbage about how many more Taylor's sold over Katharine's.  And them going on the same day will create that obviously.  Although who knows...maybe it'll create even more sales for the two of them (the competition aspect).  I really don't know what to think about that.

But...if she needs another week, that's OK.  I don't want her to rush this.

We can probably tap the gavel at that December 5 being official--because Amazon seems to lead the way in accurate release dates. Why we trust Amazon so much, I don't know, but it might have to do with the great way they treat their customers. When you get valued so much as a customer, we'll probably be more apt to believe anything Amazon says. Though with B&N's December 12 added to this...we're definitely moving into a period of utter chaos and confusion before Kat's CD is actually released.

That's all the better in creating buzz, of course. You may have noticed Kat's #151 in presales as of the hour. I think that's the highest she's been so far. No doubt the Carousel Ball media coverage helped it scoot up as I hoped it would. Just imagine if that event would have been televised. She'd be at #1 right now if it had. But I hope the buzz sustains enough so we'll see Kat pull into the Top 100 next week.

Something bizarre I noticed on Kat's album page on Amazon tonight: They're bundling Bianca Ryan's debut CD with Kat's CD as a 'Best Value' buy. Bianca's album is apparently coming out on 11/14...which equals a rush job. But the track listing is mostly cover songs that were probably recorded in less than a week. There's only a couple of original tracks there--one being a Christmas song that may have been written by David Foster (?). Having that team-up of CD's seems to indicate that the media is trying to instigate some kind of competition between the two. I think that'll stop fast once people hear Kat's debut CD. It could be Bianca will be burned out by the time she's Kat's age if she gets on the fast track in her career with no moral guidance. Kat's moral and spiritual guidance is already set up, so there's probably no need for people to bet on who'll be the singer with true longevity in the next decade.

With this release date change for Kat, it makes me wonder if her Leno appearance will change now--despite it only being a little over a week before the release. Unless people have short memories, it should sustain interest after Kat presumably debuts her single on there. I truly think we won't hear the new single until the Leno appearance or maybe a week before. If there's a delay on the Leno appearance it'd at least give Jay some practice in giving her the handshake brush-off.

She's also constantly in the top fifty of movers and shakers (currently at 20).

I do have some concerns with a 12/5 release date- especially since RCA has shipped promotional materials to stores advertising 11/28- and Kat has no appearances lined up for the week of the 5th.

I think they probably have a good stategy...I don't know if I'd want her in the same position as Chris...3 weeks from release and no single out there officially for radio.

Very confusing. Amazon says December 5th, although they haven't changed the arrival dates for my order. RCA still says November 28th. You can argue that RCA hasn't updated their website, but in the artist news column they have added more about Katharine's activities since yesterday. All we can do is brace ourselves for the December 5th drop. Promotional activities are the problem of their A&R department. As long as there is a single, she can appear anywhere. The buzz from the recent Carousel of Hope Ball has helped her significantly. She is #135 on the Amazon ratings and rising.

If Katharine and Taylor do happen to have the same release dates, it shouldn't matter. Katharine's masterpiece of a CD will do the talking. She is now ahead of Taylor on the recent album anticipation AI poll.

Katharine's album will be out Nov. 28th make sure to pick up a copy.

However on the same website if you click on preorder that takes you to Sony website it says 12/5.
