... making sure everyone who possibly can has their "go phone" from Cingular ready. If not, you still have Monday & Tuesday to get one and get it loaded up with text messages! Come on, we've got to pull her into the Top 3 and then after that, we'll keep pulling! Be ready Tuesday night!

Make absolutely sure they count the votes before using. I heard from some Taylor fans that they had problems with the "go phone".

Copied from the AI board:
I have been trying to get an answer to this dilemma for 4 days now. I gave them a deadline of 4:30pm PST Monday (today) to get an answer to us, and they have not done so.

PROBLEMS

It looks like none of Taylor's text message votes were counted (on everyone's new Cingular Go-Phones that they just bought)

Another one:
I had my phone traced and only 1 text was counted out of 970. I went there because my balance did not go down so they traced it and only one text got through and they did NOT have a good answer for why this happened.

The only thing that I can think of isignal strength. Sending a text message is like making a call, you really need like 3 bars signal to assure a good connection. But the phone should report back any failed text message attemps, so I'm confused as to how the messages aren't getting through. Maybe it's the fault of the particular phone model- we need to find out if the people having the problem all have the same phone. Cingular offers a few different phone choices to use as Go Phones.

I just got off the phone after an extended conversation with a Senior Manager at Cingular's Management Help desk who specializes in Text Messaging. He searched for reports of any difficulties with GO PHONE texting anywhere in the Country and said, "there are no reported problems texting nationwide with any brand of GO PHONE", and reminded me that anyone with a new GO PHONE can check their own account by either going to www.cingular.com or phoning their Customer Service for the number of messages sent. He also thinks the fact that AI only sends back ONE response for a whole slew of votes may have spooked some new texting users. And you're right, Bill, whether using a GO PHONE or a regular cell phone, it's always best to get 3 signal bars!

^I wouldn't forcast the ouster of any of the remaining contestants- they are all VERY talented, especially Elliott. Don't underestimate the E-Train. At this point NOONE IS SAFE, and I wouldn't be at all surprised by an "upset" tomorrow night.
