So what do you think would be a good title for Kat's debut album?

Let's get creative, people!!

I thought that Kat already had a name picked out for her album.  Wasn't it a "An Air of Mystery"?

"An Air of Mystery" was just the subtitle of a thread.  Kat may already have a title, this is just for fun.  Who knows.  She may even get some ideas from us!

You know the more I think about it, "An Air of Mystery" really would be fitting.

'Fever' would be a hot title....I hate when people just use their names for debuts.

Are you sure this wasn't meant to be a joke? Just tell me if it wasn't.

I like Rainbowland, borrowing from Groucho's wonderful fanfic.
You wouldn't mind Groucho, would you?

I do to, but it has too much to do with SOTR.

Hehe,

Katharine Mcphee: "I'm Better than You"

This one gets my vote.

Seriously, though. The title should be a reflection of the music inside, so I think it's pretty difficult to determine a title at this point. Frankly, "An Air of Mystery" seems to be the most apt title yet. I'm not saying I'd consider it as a title, since it's a little worthy, but something along the lines of Katharine's inherent intrigue would be nice for a debut album.

"I think it was the summertime when I laid eyes on you. I didn't even know your name...The boy you never wanted just steals your heart..."--Kat McPhee, Love Story

"4 walls and no you. The silence in this room is so loud...wow"--Kat McPhee, I Lost You

"I didn't see the crash that burnt the bridge, didn't see the missile that sank my loveship down..."--Kat McPhee, Dangerous

"Wanting you to be wanting me, no that ain't no way to be...You never were a friend of mine..."--Kat McPhee, Over It

"No more lonely nights to hurt me, no more tears left to spare, no more reasons to be unhappy. You threw them all up in the air..."--Kat McPhee, Each Other

"Your pedicure, white-tipped French. Your legs don't make no sense...Shoes like these make me hate flats..."--Kat McPhee, Open Toes

I thought people usually had eponymous debut albums (indulge me, I just learned what that means myself) - which would make it simply 'Katharine McPhee.' My far-our title, which I used in a story I wrote, was "Katharine With An A," by analogy to "Liza With a Z." Might help all those people who can't spell her name. I think maybe she's tired of being associated with rainbows right about now. But thanks for the suggestion. By the way, the fictional character hated the title.

This may be unfortunately true.
But I will always associate rainbows with Kat, and not just because of SOTR, but rather for the symbolic representation of Kat's journey from Kansas to Oz.

Ohhhhhh, this is going to be a great topic!  Okay, here's some possiblities:

1) The Essence of McPhee;  2) In My Element; 3) Meet Me, Katharine McPhee; 4) McPheever Rising and 5) Stepping Forward  . . . . alright, better get back to work.

hahaha Mark. you started the thread! I hope people post some of the ones we were brainstorming earlier...those were genius.

I'm gonna go with "Katharine McPhee: I Own You" ..... I think it's fitting considering Kat owns.

obviously, it would be pointless to make legitimate suggestions considering we know nothing about Kat's album, but i definitely think some of our  joking ones would be quite good. haha.

Some joke ideas:

"Current"
"Got McPheever?"
"I own"

Some potential serious ones:

"Intuition"
"Hope"
"Katharine McPhee" (I have a feeling this might be self titled)

so many more...that's all I'm gonna post for now though

ok so... I'm ruling out anything to do with rainbows, destiny, and basically anything AI related if only I could think of something right now... it could always be the title of a song...

edit: Hope... I think I kinda like that Evan

album names are pretty much always either the artist's name or the name of a song on the album. that's why i think it's impossible to suggest names without knowing any of the tracks. just joking ones that kat would clearly never really use, but are funny.

like..."Buy This CD or the Katfia Will Get You." ;)

ECB - LOL ^^^ on that title, I knew a Katfia title would be in there for one of the "funny" suggestions.  I agree that most CD titles are from a title track; however, there are some that aren't - going back to an old school group - Journey they had "Infinity," "Evolution," "Departure," and "Escape," which weren't any tracks on the CD.  Now, this topic is going to have me looking up all my Album titles on my home PC.

My corny title suggestions above were chosen because there does seem to be such a mystery surrounding this new CD, so that's where I came up with "In My Element," meaning Kat is basically doing her thing . . . the other corny title "Stepping Ahead," was relating to how Kat shared so much of her personal battles with the public and now she's ready to "step ahead" and share/tell new stories through her music.  Okay, enough rambling from me.
