Male.  Hmmm.  Definitely says something about AI's agenda. (I am talking about the songs that idols have to sing regarding a specific person/group)...not pop, where it was Shakira singing.

Maybe male singers have a harder time adjusting to female singers?  If there is someone with a little more credibility/experience in this area, let me know.

I don't know exactly know what you meant.... about male. But I noticed the arrangements were obviously indicating Chris, Kat, and Taylor are the favorite ones with Chris and Taylor sang first and second and Kat took the center stage coming at the back. This is the top 3 AI wants to see, and it will be, believe it or not.

Now that's for sure about their agenda and intentions. They just want to make the guys easier to sing. They could care less about the girls.

I honestly can't think of too many female guest stars that would work out. I mean, try to imagine Taylor or Chris singing Celine Dion. Now maybe Ace could have done it in falsetto, but that would have been just too weird! Seriously, there are some women which would have worked out, like Carole King, Carley Simon or Joni Mitchell, but these gals probably have no interest in doing any TV appearences at their age, unlike Cat, Rod and Barry.

Well, I can tell you that you can pretty much put any song in any key you want so it's not like the boys would have to sing like girls. =p Haha. Actually, you can put a song in a machine, and it will change the key for you. It's pretty cool. As for why they haven't had to choose from a female songbook, well, all I can think of is that songs sang by men tend to be a little more general and universal. It's much easier to think of Katharine singing something like STWOM than to imagine Taylor, Elliot, or Chris singing Cause I'm Your Lady or I Fall To Pieces or something of that sort. I know that's a little over dramatic, but just think about it. Songs by women are usually mushy and stuff. =) Haha. It's ok, though, Kat can handle the guy's songs. =)

Now you know why I posed this question last week.

Theoretically. any singer, with training and practice, can push their voice to go as high as needed. You can not however, train your voice to go as low as needed, there is a wall, and pretty much whatever your born with in the low deep voice department is what you get when you sing, it's terribly hard to train it to be deeper.

So, in one way, the girls are at a HUGE disadvantage, but in another way. They can't really make girl singers be the theme for a week. There are very few neutral girl songs. The ones that are neutral, are not widely known songs... I mean sure there are quite a few, but not nearly as many as neutral male songs.

just my opinion
