yah i was worried bout that myself, i was hoping for paris to stay so it would be 2 guys and 2 girls and kat would have a girlfriend to hang with, she's lucky to be going to graceland on a private jet

Hey Chad, I think it can only help Kat to be the only girl. Quite a few votes go by sex, so Kat will get all the votes of those that prefer female vocalists. But I'm a bit worried that Kat will have less support now with no friends left in the competition. And tonight she looked very scared and vulnerable, especially when she admitted that the pressure was getting to her last night. So much for being "arrogant" and "conceited". Kat's appearing more like a little girl that needs someone to give her a few hugs. I hope she has someone close that can help her through the rest of the competition.

She definitley looked uncomfortable tonight, bcollan. I thought she was going to cry: I can really tell the pressure has been getting to her. I think with Kellie she had someone to make the competition fun, and now its really cutthroat. Hopefully this will boost her image, though! I couldn't stand people thinking she was conceited, especially since there was no basis for that theory! Even if she was, it is not fair to make statements like that.

Next week, Katharine will really need us! Now that Elliot was in the bottom two (again), his fans will most likely try their best to get him to the top three.

And Katharine will need to work hard herself. America won't allow two bad weeks in a row (as evidenced with Kellie). She was both bad/great last night, but shes going to really have to blow everyone else out of the water (a lot of pressure!) to make it.

Heres hoping for the best for her AND us!

Advantage Kat  - in being the last female left....mom and dad will support her through the stress...she knows she slipped a little this week....it won't happen again....best voice...most versatile talent...best 'eye candy' on the planet...sounds like top 3 to me.

Yeah... I agree... it seems that she isn't as comfortable as before anymore but it really doesn't matter cuz I think she'll do even better under pressure. Plus, she got all of our support already so I think she'll be fine. As for being conceited or arrogant, I know it's just confidence

i think it's good to see Kat being the last lady left in the competition, that means she is a really good singer, well, at least she's the luckiest among the girls....

Kat needs to boost up her confidence...McPhans need to contribute more n more effort on voting for Kat in the next 3 weeks...we love to see Kat's happy face.......

by the way, it's really sad to see paris leaving the show....i love the Top 5 remaining but i love Kat the most! Go Kat, you can do it! ;-)

I have not seen it so I can't comment. But I do agree that if Kellie was still around, she probably would not feel so alone tackling these cut throat competition alone. Let's just pray for her.

Well, the last time this happened was in Season 2, when Kimberly Lock was left with Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Josh Gracin. Kimberly came on strong at the end but Ruben and Clay had already built up such strong fanbases she couldn't overcome it and still finished third. The difference I think here is that I believe as far as pure vocals are concerned both Ruben and Clay could outsing any of the guys left in this year's competition. Elliott is probably the best pure vocalist left of the guys (if you can stand all the vibrato), but certainly appears to be the least popular. Taylor and Chris get a lot of "style" points with the audience as the cool "soul" guy and the hot "rocker" guy but to me both can definitely be outdone by Kat vocally if she is on her game. She can't afford any more slips though like AAO. I also think she needs to be creative like she was in BH&CT to really let her personality shine to go head to head with Chris and Taylor in the "performance" category. But MOST importantly, Kat needs to gather herself, relax, take a deep breath and not put so much pressure on herself. Like you guys said, you could see how really uptight she was tonight and I am afraid that maybe coming down to the wire here she is really letting all this get to her especially now that she is probably somewhat socially isolated being the only female left. She just needs to realize that if she just goes out and gives it her all she will be fine and that even if she doesn't win this competition she has already accomplished 95% of what its all about and that is MAJOR exposure. I mean she is already a household name across most of America. Maybe if she could take that attitude she could relax a little more and not put so much pressure on herself. I have a feeling though it will be tough for her to do that because I get the feeling, like myself, that she tends to be a little bit of a perfectionist and that type of person has trouble NOT putting a lot of pressure on themselves in situations like she is in. I just know though that with all of us behind she has a great chance to go all the way!

I think its a good thing that Kat is the last girl standing. The boys probably share a few votes. Plus it means that Kat was the best gir that entered the competition.

I don't think being the last female will hurt her. While there is certainly a large number that only like Taylor, or Chris, or Elliott, there is also a large group that may have voted for Kellie or Paris (or not) who prefers a female vocalist. Given that Katharine is the only one left who qualifies in that category, she would get all those votes. And, while no one would argue that Chris, Taylor and Elliott are similar singers, being the last female and the best vocalist of those left separates Katharine from the rest - kind of singles her out. Now, whether that will all translate into votes remains to be seen.

As the last woman standing, Kat is undeniably the best female vocalist of AI5.(which we knew all along). That should give her plenty of confidence...and settle her nerves after this tough night..

Elvis songs will be a showcase for her...as was "Bring out the Elvis in Me".

It's an advantage to be the last woman standing and she'll go all the way!!!!

Kat is the BEST vocalist in the show period. As for confidence, after kinda hacking up Against All Odds, if she weren't confident, she could have just folded. But she came out and gave the best performance of the night --- on her knees no less --- and her vocals were wonderful. She will win if we all stay confident and keep rolling in the votes for her!

Katharine knows she slipped up this week with Phil Collins' "Against All Odds." Our girl did make a great comeback with the second performance. And according to mtvnews.com, it was "scorching and her best performance yet." She knows that she can't afford to make anymore mistakes. She definitely KNOWS that, she'll be fine. She just needs to regain the confidence, spunkiness and sass she started with and forget the pressure. With her family and the Mcphans behind her, and as long as she knows that, she'll be A-ok.

I think it's good for Kat because she'll get these votes that Paris had picked up on:

1) Little girls who want the pretty and nice girl to win...now there's only one of them!

2) Guys who want the hot one to win!

3) Fans of old jazz and R & B music

4) People who don't want Chris, Elliott, or Taylor to win!

Before now, Kat was splitting these certain votes Paris, and now they all go to her! However, regular McPhee voters still need to step it up!

if keep it guys at this rate and even improve, it's all up to kat to nail it each and everytime with the performances. i mean, she needs a Bo Bice moment like when he sang Within A Dream so that people will who have watched the show for the first time will be captivated by Kat's stunning performance! and hopefully this will make her sail through to the Finale!

i hope being the only girl in the competition work some little wonders for her, i know she's feeling the pressure, but i think she'll deliver big time!

I agree with  FanofMcPhee.
I hope Kat brings out her best performance to top the guys. The comparison is easier since she is the only girl left in the show. If she can make that impression, she will gain more votes.
Anyway, the most importance is we have to VOTE as possible as we can. I want to prove them wrong badly. The girl will win AI.

I think it is a good thing to be the last girl standing. It proves Kat is the best Female Vocalist of AI5.
Now with that said I believe she will put on a strong performance next week and prove to everyon once and for all that she is the best pure vocalist on AI5. I know taylor and Chris have a strong fan base also but I believe Kat's has grown bigger with the elimination of Paris. Just for the simple fact some people just want a female to win.
I think Kat's biggest competition is Chris and they will be the last two standing. As long as Kat doesn't have anymore off days she should win AI5.
