To make this make sense, I have to admit that I'm not as big as a Kat fan as almost all of you are. I didn't even watch AI that much until the top three. I voted for her on the performance finale, I thought she a had a great voice, and I joined the forum just for the sake of it. But for me, there just didn't seem to be that factor that would make me like her as much as I do Carrie Underwood. My sister bought Kat's single, but I didn't as I usually would buy my own copy. I didn't even listen to it until tonight. But once I heard the second verse of My Destiny, I just fell in love with her voice. I guess Over the Rainbow was the only song I really knew she sang and her particular rendition of it. But as I listend to My Destiny, I realized she sounded like an artist. That did it for me. Now I see Kat as a real talented artist that deserves to be known all across the country and maybe even the world. She has such a beautiful voice. Now I'm so thrilled, excited, and proud to buy her debut album and I'm glad I didn't pass up the opportunity to be a fan of such a beautiful, talented person. I just thought I'd share that "...with you...".

Well I'm glad you had an open mind and let yourself in to the wonderful world that is Katharine McPhee. Strange how "My Destiny" did it for you. Now the version on the single is much better than how she did it on the show (because her voice was toast). It is a shame that she wasn't able to sing "MD" the way she can on Idol. I think that hurt her single sales. And the fact that she basically gave the song a non-vote of confidence by not performing it since the finale of Idol. I'd love to see her do the song again, with voice intact. It isn't nearly as bad as people would have made you believe after seeing her do it on Idol. It's actually pretty good. It isn't my favorite Katharine song I have on my IPod but I like it. Although I like pretty much all of them except for "The Voice Within" so....I'm not the most impartial judge on these things.

yes, KAT's voice has that effect on people. not only her voice, actually, but also her looks, her personality, her sense of humor... there are just so many reasons to love KAT! i'm glad you've seen the light. welcome to KMF.

It's kind of odd how I was impacted by MD instead of OTR. In OTR you can really hear her sing. I actually have to find more media like her performances on AI. Those are the only two songs that I've really listened to. Everything else was just once that didn't really stick in my mind. She does sound remarkable recorded though. Thanx for the warm welcome!

Yay!!! Another one has been converted! Don't feel bad about not liking Kat before. all that matters is that now you've seen her beauty!! Like others have said, now that you see Kat as amazing, check out her performances from Idol! Just go to the media section! Each one has a special meaning and is unique! By the way, Carrie Underwood is one of my favs, as you can see!

Angel of Music, thank you for posting. You know, you don't have to be insane like us and talk for days on end about the Kat in Glasses photo to be a Kat fan. We welcome fans of every scale. We know we're crazy, and when we get together we do fuel each other's Kat obsession, but we all know that she has casual fans like you who are just as important. Thanks again for posting. My Destiny, was not, as the judges said, a great song. The lyrics have so much meaning because it really tells Katharine's story. Her perseverance, overcoming 195 rejections in an 18 month period and actually becoming a STAR while battling a disease should be a movie one day. Listening to her sing that song, while she had endured a cortisone injection to overcome a burst blood vessel in her throat was pure drama and when I watch my DVD of all of her performances, I am continually overwhelmed watching perform that song. What galled me was the the judges knew damn well that she needed medical attention in order to perform that night and they didn't say a word. Watching my DVD demonstrated to me the gross inconsistencies in their reviews and their agenda to not have 4 female winners in 5 years no matter what it cost their image.

Somehow I managed to catch up in a hurry...but it sometimes involves watching media in a two-hour online content marathon. Not that I complained about watching Katharine media rather than online news clips showing Kim-Jong Il and his nukes in North Korea. Once you do a little investigating into who Katharine is as a person--you'll really become a full-fledged fan. I know some chastise me for perhaps putting the person ahead of the artist. But I find Katharine the person just as equally compelling as her artistry. And they fortunately work in tandem with one another once you see the evidence of it. Anyway, welcome to the board. You'll find everything you need right here to get a full (and truthful) view of who Katharine is as an artist and person. Maybe it'd be a good idea if this site has some kind of basic rundown of Kat's accomplishments for newcomers so they can go to the right places here in learning. We're glad you're here to learn the truth--because places like the 'AI' board are like living in ragville...where the half-truth reigns supreme. By the way, your SN gives me immediate remembrances of Michael Crawford singing as the Phantom in 'Phantom of the Opera.' And it also reminds me how great Kat could be as Christine in the Broadway show that's now in it's 218th year. Hope you have fun here...

i didnt come aboard the kat pack until the end of july- because i didnt know how to become one... im not the #1 kat fan on this site, im sure, but i absolutely love her to death- she just reels you in when she performs and i was soo bumbed out that i didnt get to see her in concert, but im going for round #2 on 9/23 yea!!! so i was wondering if there was any projects for kat or anything that i could help out with? i'd absolutely love to do that!!!
