Well, I got about 200 in texts, and I used my mom's cell to vote for one number and mine to vote for the other. I probably got between 100 and 150 votes in by calling. The lines weren't very busy at all from 9:30-10:00 here. =/ I only got like a few busy signals.

I counted in 695 votes, but I most likely got more. There was a huge time period where I wasn't counting and just concentrated on voting since I was getting through every single time. My mom voted for the whole 2 hours with 2 phones, too, but she didn't count.

I really wasn't counting because I was so intent on constantly voting.  I'd say I got between 100 and 150.  I voted for the first 1/2 hour on 01 and then for awhile went to 07 in order to cover that base.  As I said in another post, I got through fairly regularly the last 30-40 minutes with some busy signals.

The lines were VERY busy in NJ for the whole 2 hours. I got in about 70 votes on each of my land lines for a total of 140. And I got in 500 Cingular text votes. Right now dialidol has Kat in 4th place behind Taylor, Chris,  and Elliott.  Kellie and Paris are the bottom 2. Poor Paris is quite abit below Kellie, and after an excellent performance.

I noticed the same trend as Bill. I am about 100 miles south of him on the East Coast and I only was able to get through 16 times from 9 - 10. Then from 10 - 11 I was able to get through at least 60 times. I would dial like 20 times to 01 then 20 times to 07, just switching it up randomly.

I got in a little over 70 votes. Lots of busy signals from 9 - 10:15, but then I got through 5 or 6 straight votes in a row, then it got real busy again....weird. I was so glad to hear a busy signal most of the night.

On the local news after the show, there was a viewing party in Downtown Philadelphia and the reported stated that "Two contestants were the most popular among the viewing party attendees....One is Chris Daughtry the other....our very own KAT MCPHEE!!!" They showed clips of everyone voting on their cellphones and text messaging...so I hope that most of those votes were going to Kat.

Although I had set 2 landline phones up on 2 separate numbers (& 2 separate lines) ready to redial, I only used each of them a couple of times to try them out, because I was able to get far more votes through using my Cingular phone & text messaging than by redialing both landline phones -- as several other McPhans have reported. A major reason for this is there's never a busy signal when text messaging. Before the show last nite I did a test, timing myself by sending a large number of text messages to my own Cingular phone, and found I could consistently send about 10-11 votes/minute by text messaging. (I was punching keys on the cell phone far too fast to deal with the distraction of counting the actual number of sent messages during my 2+ hrs of voting). But I'm certain I got at least 1,200 votes thru for Kat this way.

BTW, Cingular Customer Service tells me existing Cingular customers without a text messaging plan can call them at 800-331-0500 (or 611 from your phone) and add a plan with UNLIMITED FREE TEXT MESSAGING that should in most cases allow you unlimited free messaging until AFTER the final round at the Kodak theater -- for as little as $2.99/mo (then cancel it afterward, if you like)!

For me, the first hour was quite busy for both lines. I had to switch back and forth to get through. I had about 50 votes on the first hour. The second hour was pretty much open and I got about 200. So a total of 250 for me. Not as much as I expected due to the low successful rate on the first hour.

In between busy signals, I got in ( lost count) at least 150 to 200.I also got my two sisters ( who are already fans) to vote in as well. And a neighbor of my parents too.They were as angry as I was when they heard the "judges" give their opinion about Katharines performance.And like all of you, I'm wondering WHAT IS UP THEIR BUTTS?!!!!
Nothing against any of the other idols, but if a particular blond doesn't go home tonight, then she REALLY has made a deal with the devil, and hell really has frozen over

oh, and I used the 07 number more than the 01.The only time during those two hours that I didn't vote was when my #@*& phone ran out of juice, and I needed to charge it for 10 minutes.So I guess I was a loyal fan for 1 hour and 50 minutes last night

i got in about 196 votes, i switched back and forth between both numbers. i got in most of the votes after 10, when the line was almost always clear. i just wanna do my part so the rightful person goes home a winner (and im sure we all agree that person is katharine mcphee), btw, she looked stunning last night, and the judges didnt even mention...

Between 1-866-IDOLS 01 (1-866-436-5701) and 1-866-IDOLS 07 (1-866-436-5707), I got in 95 votes on each line, for a total of 190.

It was extremely busy last night, but I was lucky to get 190 votes for Katharine McPhee, the most ever, other than finals night.
