My auto repeat dialer at home called about 550 times, but I have no way of knowing how many rang and how many were busy...the software I'm using counts a "fast busy" as a ring. I also found that we have cell service out here aboard the Carnival Conquest, so I sent 25 text message votes. I was afraid to try more because I have no idea what they will cost me from the middle of the Carribean- who knows, they could be a buck apeace!

Noni,

I'm a little concerned, I was getting through more easily tonight than I did last week.  The second hour especially I wasn't hearing the busy signal as much which worried me that she wasn't getting the total support.

I dialed manually and was scared the entire time. What a terrible two hours of my life! I must've gotten through 80 times in the first 35 minutes.

Yes guys, I am a little concerned myself. It was MUCH easier to get through this week but not as easy as two weeks ago. As Randy would say "keepin' it real", I would have to say that even though I love anything that Kat does, this was not her best week. First, the song she sang doesn't really do a lot to excite anyone or make you want to jump up and go vote for her (unless you are already a Kat fanatic like most of us are) and secondly there were a couple of parts that were slightly pitchy where her voice sounded maybe a little strained or perhaps tired primarily on the really high notes she was having to sit on and hold out. Normally, she is just dead perfect on the pitch of almost every note. She did look amazing though as usual and still did a very nice job overall with the song. Personally, I will just breathe a sigh of relief if we can get her through this week to Rod Stewart where there is a much bigger catalog of music to choose from. I didn't really think any of the performers tonight really "nailed" their song to the point where I would say that they are definitely the one to beat. This thing is still really up in the air.

I was voting from my cell and my moms and texting from my cell. Haha. I got through very little in the first hour, but it got easier in the second hour. =/ That's where the Kat fan's weakness is. Something happens in the second hour, and half the fans stop voting! Or at least that's how it seems. That's what kills her. We need to find a way to do something about this... Hmmm. =)

Right, we need some genius to lead the way. Haha...

I voted somewhere between 125 and 150 times - until my fingers were so sore I had to quit (and I ran out of time, too)! I am trying my best to do my part to keep my girl Katharine out of the bottom three! She did really ggreat tonight. I've never seen her give a poor performance - I don't care what the judges say! She's the only contestant with the complete package: great voice range, wonderful/charismatic stage presence, beauty, a sultry/smooth voice that really stands out from others. I really want her to win it! Come on people - help me vote multiple times! B. Godsey, Pinnacle, NC, USA

I had a lot of trouble voting during the first hour. then, about 9:00, I think I got through about 10 straight times. Then it got hard to get through again. So it varied a lot. At first, it seemed like I was getting through about 20% of the time, then way more, then less again. I have never been one to call before until the past two weeks, so I don't really know what is normal.

One thing I did find odd. Usually, I would get a busy signal. But sometimes I would get a recording that all circuits are busy.

One thing I have wondered is how much the quality of a given performance really matters with the voting. I mean, the people voting have their favorites, and they are going to vote for them regardless. How many people would actually switch from person to person depending on how they sang in a given week? Does the fact that there was a completely new bottom three last week prove that people were basing votes on last week's performances, or does it simply mean their fans did not vote as much? On the other hand, I am sure there are people with more than one favorite, so as the weeks go on, they may be narrowing down who they really like. So, going back to my first statement, if someone, like Katharine, were real good every week and then had one bad week, would that be a reason to not vote for her? I realize I am biased, but I would say that she has been the most consistently good week after week. I suppose you could make a decent case for Chris too, but all the rest of them have had a lot of ups and downs.

Oh, forgot to mention that I was able to get in around 125 votes tonight or so. I lost track of the actual count but I was certainly redialing as fast as I could and got in as many as possible.

Ivegotmcpheever - you have a point. Chris and Kat should be in the finale. Others like Kellie and Taylor wouldn't be doing nearly so well if they weren't early favorites with consistent fans. It seems to me anyone who likes Kellie will never stop liking her. But there are plenty of people who are ready to turn their backs on Kat for not being the best she can be on a single night.

It means that after this performance, Katharine is seriously on the line. It means she has more than one insufficient performance and almost in a row. It means I'm feeling very depressed now after reading a review of Kat's song by someone who was watching AI for the first time because Queen is his favorite band. I think all that darkness on stage makes it worse. Maybe Kat was feeling all the wrong emotions tonight. Maybe she should've done the other song, which she seemed to be having fun with. That guy said she should've sung "Killer Queen." And he described her performance as "Mariah Carey does Queen."

It was MUCH easier to get through this week but not as easy as two weeks ago.

Spot On with what I observed. I was calling from the East Coast and the first hour I got about 50 votes in, lots of busy signals, but still easier than last week.
The second hour WAS a bit nerve-racking. I experienced the same thing Winnpoober did. Very easy to get through the 2nd hour. I got probably around 175 - 200 votes in on my land line, and about 30 votes in on my cell.

I thought she looked awesome and sounded great, one of the best performances of the night...but then again, I am biased so who knows what the rest of America was thinking.
