Looks like she might be singing "Don't Stop Me Now".
If Kat's going to do Don't Stop Me Now (rather than Live Forever), it will give her a good opportunity to 'rock' and show a lot more personality than with Live Forever.
I just hope she's had enough time to rehearse and prepare; the pace of Don't Stop is incredibly fast, and the breathing requirement is a lot more difficult; but she can handle it.
Go Kat!
By the way, http://hollywoodrecords.go.com/Queen/americanidol/ just changed their information to the one that USA Today has. So I suppose it's official... Katharine will be singing "Who Wants to Live Forever".
O.K. if we're back to 'Who Wants To Live Forever', I'll repeat what I said in another post. Live Forever may not be an ideal song choice for Katharine, but it also has the potential of being very powerful, especially if she 'nails' the upper range parts of the song.
It's a somber song, and I would have preferred a more playful, upbeat song like Killer Queen, but with Kat's ability to interpret a song and convey emotion, she really could do well with Live Forever.
The other female contestants have chosen difficult songs...I don't know what Kellie will be able to do with BoRhap...what was she thinking??!!..and Paris has selected a song (The Show Must Go On) that will really really challenge her full vocal capability...she better take in lots of oxygen...she'll need it... it could go either way for Paris...it will either be great, or tragic.
Taylor has chosen the wrong song (Crazy Thing Called Love) in my opinion, it has the potential for another 'Take Me Home Country Roads' watery flop. The rest of the guys have made reasonable choices (Chris - Innuendo; Ace - We Will Rock You; Bucky - Fat Bottom Girls; Elliott - Somebody To Love).
Kat will show us a more serious side of her performance repertoire tonight...she may significantly elevate her stock with this song. She has shown us coy, playful, sexy, light, fun, smoldering, classy and smooth. She could really captivate in a new way tonight with a mature, serious and heart-felt rendition of the song .
Good luck Kat! Bring it!
