This is available for US residents only. International peeps like me have no choice but to buy her single for $2.98 at Amazon. lol.

So US peeps, one more reason to buy more Kat's singles now!

I've heard that some McPhans in other forums will buy bulks of her singles from Sony for giveaways. Maybe you guys can do the same.

To be great is to be misunderstood.

Thanks, Rhine, for the news on that. Looking on the Rhapsody service I just posted about--it's only $1.98 there to burn on a CD. That holds to the 99 cent each policy they have (like iTunes) for burning tunes. Obviously, iTunes' price would be the same.

I'm not about to order anymore of the singles online though. The Amazon one many of us ordered probably won't be delivered until Labor Day the way they keep upping the delivery date. Besides, most of us have a Target, Walmart or Tower Records within close proximity. I live nearly within walking distance to at least two of those type of stores. So, I'll be going to Target on the 27th to probably clean out the copies sitting on display.

Some people underestimate singles and usually put off buying them until they're out of circulation. One example was Michael Buble's Christmas 'mini CD' that came out a couple of years ago. My mom went to Borders, and they were trying to get rid of an oversupply by selling them for 5 cents each. She bought out the whole box they had of them--and then it became a hot collector's item on eBay when it went out of print. Not that she sold any on eBay, but a lot of people try to hunt down these kind of things long after the fact. I don't know why people put it off buying, but it's their own fault.

At least we fans of Kat will be buying out a lot of copies next week. And once it's out of print and new fans whine around about trying to obtain one later...we can just help them out. Hopefully none of you would charge a fee.

umm..I heard Rhapsody is illegal, therefore it won't count toward her sales.. I've never used the services though..I could be wrong.

Taylor's single is selling on iTunes for $1.49 under 'Buy Album' option. I expect Kat will be selling at the same price next week though.

Oh no, Rhapsody's all legal. It's only the old file-sharing sites that were illegal--and the recording industry is still putting out lawsuits for those who attempt going through them to d/l music. Most places to download music are legal, if you're laying out money to buy it--that goes partially to the artist.

Thanks for the info on the iTunes price. I've never known how much of the 99 cents goes to the artist through iTunes. Apple made some kind of deal that benefits them and the artist--so I'm guessing it's close to half.

Like I said, though, I'm buying at the outlets. Buying in the stores assures the artist will get a bigger cut of the sales price (technically)...unless iTunes is ultimately more generous.
