Who Wants to Live Forever - hmmm. If I can find my CD with that one on it, I will have to give it a listen. I seem to recall that one being kind of boring - maybe not. I just haven't listened to that CD for so long.
But on the other hand, like I said in a different thread, I think a lot of Queen songs can come off as very poor imitations, given how over-the-top Freddy was. Going back to Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I could actually see Kellie singing it with a country twang and doing ok. I'm not so sure about Taylor. I thought Chris might go for Bohemian Rhapsody, but Kellie? It will sure be interesting. I can't wait to hear Bucky sing Fat Bottomed Girls.

Although I don't think 'Who Wants To Live Forever' is an ideal song choice for Katharine, it also has the potential of being very powerful, especially if she 'nails' the upper range parts of the song.
It's a somber song, and I would have prefered a more playful, upbeat song like Killer Queen, but with Kat's ability to interpret a song and convey emotion, she really could do well with Live Forever.
The other female contestants have choosen difficult songs...I don't know what Kellie will be able to do with BoRhap...what was she thinking??!!..and Paris has selected a song (The Show Must Go On) that will really really challenge her full vocal capability...she better take in lots of oxygen...she'll need it... it could go either way for Paris...it will either be great, or tragic.
Taylor has chosen the wrong song (Crazy Thing Called Love) in my opinion, it has the potential for another 'Take MeHome Country Roads' watery flop. The rest of the guys have made reasonable choices (Chris - Inuendo; Ace - We Will Rock You; Bucky - Fat Bottom Girls; Elliott - Somebody To Love).
Kat will show us a more serious side of her perfomance repertoire tonight...she may significantly elevate her stock with this song. She has shown us coy, playful, sexy, light, fun, smouldering, classy and smooth. She could really capitvate in a new way tonight with a mature, serious and heart-felt rendition of the song .
Good luck Kat! Bring it!
Ok, now I listened to it and it is very boring. Someone said they heard a live version and maybe it got spiced up a bit live. Since they have been working with Queen, I am sure they provided some help. Katharine really will need to emote.
So the songs are still limited to about 2 minutes. Yes, how do you take a lengthy song with three distinct parts, chop it up, and put together something even resembling the original? We'll see. Good luck Kellie.
