Ok, so Katharine is my favorite so I haven't been to blogs or boards for any of the other contestants, but I was just wondering if they also have such a diverse and international fanbase? I think the thing with Pickler and some of the others is that mostly Americans (and most country folks for the Pickle) are fans so they have more chances to get votes. Kat seems to have a ton of fans outside of the U.S. which is GREAT, but I know that the international fans must be very nervous when they can't vote. I will admit America doesn't always make the best decisions so it just looks like you people in other countries need to recruit some American friends into being Kat fans. =)
I'm also afraid that fans won't vote as much this next week b/c they think the scare is over. IT'S NOT! Kat still needs all the votes she can get next week, too... and all of the weeks after that.
Oh, and I think that if Kellie SOMEHOW leaves before Katharine that Kat will get most of Kellie's votes since they ARE best friends. =) Bad thing is, if it happens the other way around... I would NOT be happy. =)

Hey I made this a new thread because it didn't really have anything to do with the other and it brings up good points. I do believe Katharine has the most world wide audience. If it were international idol, I don't believe they would even contest it.

I think that Katharine does have the most diverse group of fans. The thing with her, is that she has numerous different groups of there. She has the McPhans, she has the Kat Pack, she has the McPheevers, she has the McPhasians..she has many different groups..and I think people feel that because she does not have just one solid group..that she doesnt have a big fan base..but boy does she. It's important that all of the fan groups keep the voting up though. I know that at the Kat Pack, we sent out emails to all 500 and something members the night before the show to remind people to vote the whole two hours..and believe me..half of those people did just that. She has a great fan base..it just needs to keep growing and stay consistent..cause unfortunately, there are a few other contestants that have a bigger fan base somehow. It's just unfortunate, cause Kat has a lot of outside of the US fans and a lot of Canadian fans..and they cant vote. So the US people have to vote twice as hard and make it count for them as well. If we all just stick together, Kat will be fine! :-)

I do worry about being able to keep up with some of the other fan bases, and since this remark was made here mentioning Kellie, I'll just say that someone posted in Katharine's forum in the AI Board that there was a block party for Kellie in Albemarle (her home town) during voting night, and that some some wireless company (don't remember the name) was offering free text voting to anyone at the party! How in the world can we keep up with things like that? With Katharine's fan base being spread all over the place, it's not like it was when probably the entire state of Oklahoma was voting for Carrie or the entire state of Alabama voting for Bo. I've been a really big "campaigning" person on here for getting those votes out there for Katharine, but as things dwindle down each week, I really wonder how we can compete with the ardent voters of Taylor, Chris and Kellie. (And I don't have Cingular, but I wish I did! I have Verizon.) NOW, if the whole state of California would get behind Katharine the way other smaller states seem to do for their hometown contestants..... that's what we need!

It is sort of ashame that California is such a huge state. I sure hope that Sherman Oaks is doing their job though.

I know it might seem impossible at times, but I believe we can get Katharine to the finals. Kat's fan base is diverse, and spread out, but VERY large! That's why she has been second to Chris in the betting odds, and check out the AOL weekly poll, where Kat has had a commanding lead for the last 3 weeks. Remember that a very large group of people vote for Kat each week without actively participating in organized fan activites, just because they know she's the best. Any many others vote soley on the performances each week, which Kat usually nails. So the visible fan base can be just the tip of the iceberg.

You know, if only Cingular text votes can count, then it makes me wonder about this other wireless company being able to offer free text votes to all those Kellie fans at the supposed "block party" they had for her. It was weird that somebody who knew about that or attended it was posting it in Katharine's forum-- as they were claiming to encourage us to vote for Katharine! Maybe it wasn't true. Who knows! ******* I do believe we've got to GET THE MESSAGE OUT EVERY WEEK like we all did this past week to keep people interested in fervently voting for Katharine. I know from what Momma McPhee has told me, she really wants to be standing on that Kodak Theater stage in May, and I think we all really want her to be, too! It is soooo up to all of the fans, now!

I agree she has the most diverse fans, indeed there will be negative and postive points about it...
As you said we internationals cant vote, but what we can deliver is support for you fans in US to keep the LOVE on for Kat, and keep dialing her number till the end.
IMAGINE WHEN KAT WINS. IMAGINE. SEE HOW SHE WILL DO, SHE'S GOT INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT ALREADY. WHICH ONLY MEANS 1 THING. HUGE SUCCSESS FOR THIS TALENTED GIRL. I WILL BE HERE TO SEE THAT HAPPEN!
