Guess some media people just don't have enogugh to do...I recall articles from People Magazine during AI that were not Kat favorable at all. They weren't taking her seriously then, and they obviously aren't now.

For question 1, how about, "A quiet night with your boyfriend"?
Or for the tour question, how about, "Will you have a vocal coach on tour with you"?

I didn't see anything wrong with what she said. Like you said she is just having fun and kidding around. Why can't she do that anymore? It would not be the true Kat if she could not be herself. I thought it was cute.

The bashers will bash even if there is nothing to bash about.

Her answers were fine, it's the questions she gets asked. Just like when Kelly on Regis asked her what she was going to wear to the Spielberg meeting, suggesting she should wear something "low-cut"

Some of these media and TV people are idiots.

I guess maybe if I were in the media spotlight I would be called, "Boring, overly-serious, straight-laced, and too business like" :-)

It's funny - this same link is posted in the media room with the title "aol answers" and it has got 18 responses. With this title here it has over 1400 in a few minutes. Anyone want to offer me a job in marketing???

Took the quiz...got 4 out of 5...missed the eyebrows thing...nothing wrong with her answers...if you think this is controversial....you have no idea of what's in store for Kat...I just wish that this was the worst she will have to deal with.

I think Kat will get increasingly comfortable with herself and eventually start feeding the 'press hounds' nonsense just to see all the foolish people overreact.

I personally love how Kat can remain carefree and just say whatever's on her mind like she is completely oblivious to the "consequences". She refuses to compromise who she is and I applaud her for that. At 22 she knows who she is and she's not going to censor herself to please people that aren't even her fans. But I understand if people are concerned because we have to deal with the bashers every time we turn around. We know she has fun just being silly and making people laugh...she likes to joke around and use sarcasm. She's been asked the same questions now several times and has answered them a little differently each time. I think she's just having fun with the whole thing and not taking herself too seriously. How refreshing.

Some of us are guilty of putting her up on a pedestal, myself included. Some have gone so far as to say she is perfect. Well, she's as close to perfect as you'll ever find and I wouldn't want her to change a thing, especially the silliness which I particularly enjoy. I hope she can keep her sense of humor through all of this. It would be a tragedy to see her become another jaded hollywood type, but I have faith that won't happen.

'Controversial' ? Uh...no. She was cute, adorable, candid per usual and just heself w/ those Q/A. I don't think she said anything a basher could run w/ unless they like grasping at straws.

I did have "controversial" in quotes, because I don't find it so at all, I think she is great, hope she never changes,. There has been some bashing of her over it on the  AI board. The trolls will use anything, and apparently her answer to question 1 proves that she is a woman of loose morals and a bad rold model for the women of America! (When of course the opposite is true - can anyone name a better role model? I can't think of one. Who wouldn't be proud to have Katharine as a daughter?)

i think she has the cutest personality, i mean, i dont know about you, but i think i would have a blast hanging out with her..id be laughing all the time, shes sweet and spontaneous, dont see why she should change who she is when it comes to interviews, besides she has made it clear that she couldnt care less about stuff she knows its not true and i think thats great.

She's already "feeding them nonsense" and they go crazy, i.e. "Taylor turned into a big jerk." Well, Ryan didn't go crazy, but the "usual suspects" did. I guess some people think she can do no wrong and don't care what she says, some people think she can't do anything right so they bash everything she says, and some of us can't figure it out--should she just do a Dixie Chick thing, blurt it all out, and say 'If you don't like it, you're not my natural audience anyway' ? I don't know, I'm older and maybe more conservative, but I just want her to succeed and have one of those five-decades-long, Streisand/Fonda type careers. She keeps saying everything hinges on making wise choices, but also that you should go with your gut. How do you balance that? Maybe for her it's all the same thing.

Katharine is great, lol. I agree that the bashers will find something to hate regardless, so Katharine should be comfortable just expressing who she truly is. I love that shes having fun, and being a bit silly in these interviews. So many celebrities are told the "right" things to say, and after a while it can become boring. But Kat keeps surprising me!

Also, we shouldn't really worry about the "American Idol" crowd anymore. The show is over, the votes have been cast. It isn't up to the angry Chris and Elliot fans anymore. Let them make all the fuss they want. Katharine is going to be a star regardless of what the blogs and forums say.

Anybody notice the number of hits on this post? You could post a picture of her doing Yoga and title it "A Stretch For Katharine?" and nobody would give a darn. Call it "McPhee Sticks Foot In Mouth" and it would probably get 100,000 hits.

I've seen weirder things from people other than fingernail-biting, zit-picking and eyebrow-plucking. I'm sure most of us have encountered people who do things ten times more bizarre than that. But let's not recount any of them so we can keep our food down.

The reality is: Kat is far from weird...despite her saying so at one point.

That was clever of People.com to put video answers from Kat. I didn't expect that when going in there yesterday morning. But her answers were her usual straight-faced winks of the eye that a lot of people still don't get. Who knew Kat would be so wickedly funny that a lot of her humour goes flying a mile over some people's heads? Well, that's only the minority, or those who are on Kat Media Slip-Up Watch.

Thank God Kat picked a different tour rider request from the typical. Some stars want green M&M's as their rider (why?)--and I hope 'AI' gives her at least a masseuse for all her hard work for them. But, 19E appears to be cheapskate, so the contestants will have to rely on the vibration of the tour bus hitting potholes to get any sense of massage.

Actually, that's one of my favorite things about her--her goofball, self-deprecating sense of humor. I find it very endearing. I liked the way one article put it--something to the effect of "A goofball trapped in the body of a 1940s-era bombshell." TOTALLY dug that since I love that period of Hollywood.
