Kat fans, I am sure we have all crossed paths on the boards with fellow fans from Indonesia.  In light of the recent natural disaster there, I am copying this post over from the AI boards . . .

Thank you so much for bringing up this issue...I am deeply touched.
Being an Indonesian, I am a Kat fan and always be hers no matter what.
Like thousands even millions others of her fans here (we have more than 200 million people here), we have been rooting for her silently because we have no power to help her.

We love her because we traditionally tend to like melodious bluesy/jazzy/semi classic which seemed to be her genre. In the past 3 days, I was dreaming to buy her album, her duo with Bocelli, and collaboration with David Foster.

Suddenly in saturday morning, a devastating earthquake struck us.
Now much of our mind, money and resources are mobilized to help the victims.
Many people lost their lives, the number is reaching more than 5000 now.
Much more people wounded and lost their homes.
Hospitals in destructed cities are flooded and can't hold the victims anymore.
Anyone with medical knowledge now going to the spot as volunteer,
we are running out of pins for broken-bone.
Lot of us lost their loved ones or relatives.

In this life we have put though some misery, tsunami had struck us in Aceh, now an earthquake in Jogja and central java.

My fellow Kat Packers and McPhans, just remember this the disasters can take our beloved ones here but it just makes us realize how much we love them. It just makes us stronger as a community....more care for each other.
Thank your so much for the support. Pray for us.

Don't tell Kat about this. She deserved to have a happy private life after what she had to deal in the past months. Now we can survive through all the miseries and pain because of the dream that there is a place somewhere over the the rainbow that God will gather us with our lost ones. that's Kat role... She has done it.

Just take care of our beloved Kat for us since we can't hold that role for a while.

The situation in Jogjakarta is getting worse by the day. The death toll now is over 5000 people and about 200.000 are homeless. Our company is also donating some food and supplies for the victims.

McPhans, thank you so much for all of your help, support, and prayers. It means a lot to us. Hopefully things will get better soon.

Well done, Katharinefans.com. That was quick work getting the Red Cross banner up. My husband and I have talked about flying out to Indonesia to help, but we don't have any medical background and that is what I've heard the most needed kind of manpower is there right now. So donations, like Noni says, are perhaps best for now -- and prayer.

KMF gets a % of the sale of any of her singles through Amazon.com and iTunes. Any profits made for the next 2 weeks will be donated to the relief effort.

Thank you, Mcaidol.  I am not from Indonesia, but am passing the word along from a Katharine fan who is.  Noni, who is also from there, suggests sending a donation.  Perhaps you can contact your local relief organization.  A couple that I know of are "Red Cross" and "Care."

What a message after someone has gone through such a traumatic experience. I'm sure Katharine has heard about the earthquake and would most likely be so very touched by this person's expression of admiration for her in the midst of those circumstances. I can definitely see Katharine as a humanitarian. Let us all be humbly reminded to reach out and help those in need, whether close by us or far away.
