I was just on the American Idol website, and they announced that next week's theme (April 11th-12th), will be the music of Queen.

If Katharine gets thru to April 11th and 12th, what Queen song would you like to hear her sing?

I've heard the name Queen and assume they've been around for many years, but exactly what is their type of music? If it's rock music, I sure hope it's not hard stuff. Katharine said in one of those LA Daily articles from several weeks ago that she would dread a rock & roll theme week.

Queen was a legendary in the 1970's, with their legendary lead singer, Freddie Mercury, and such classic hits as "We Will Rock You," "We Are The Champions", and others.

Man, I love Queen, I just don't know what Kat would sing. Let's see, my favorites is "Save Me" and I'd love to hear her sing that one, just because I love it so much, but it's a slower song. I think she needs to rock out a bit, now that's something I would love to see too. Depends on what she sings this week, I'm hoping for upbeat this week too.

what do you mean if?   I really like Bohemian Rhapsody - one of our Idols contestant, who had a similar voice to Kat sang it one year and it sounded brilliant! (she made it to the top 4)

Off the top of my head, I'd say "A Crazy Little Thing Called Love" would suit Kat pretty well. She can even "jazz" it up a bit to make it her own!

I agree! She could give a good R&B flavor, too - sort of like the way Aretha or Anita Baker might do it...
Rod Stewart should be pretty easy for Katharine, too. She could just pick something from hid R&B period in the 90s. How about "This Old Heart Of Mine"?

Wow - I just remembered .. . Michael Buble did a jazz arrangement of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" on his first CD. Now that would be perfect for Katharine!

And Buble currently has two songs in the Top Ten on Billboard's adult comtemporary chart,  so the older segment of the AI audience is already  familiar with him!

I was reading TV Guide last night, and they said that Rod Stewart will be appearing on AI to sing something from his "Great American Songbook" CDs, as part of a pop (and jazz) standards theme night. If that's true, then Katharine will surely beat out everyone by a mile on that night!  Nobody else on the show can put across  "the standards" like Kat!

P.S. - What's Chris going to do on a "standards" night? A modern rock version of "Stardust"? (Somehow I don't really think that would work ....)
