Katharine's CD songs, singles and David Forster preview songs are better than 'Bleeding Love'

Sorry Simon

katharine is still the queen in my eyes. although i think we can all agree on one thing that she didn't get the best material for her first album. eig and i lost you were the 2 exceptions i believe and bleeding love is a great song!

Watching and hearing leona lewis on idol, i cannot fathom simon's fondness for her. Personally, it's still Katharine and no one else.

I said this the other day.I'm so sick of this LL bombarment.Enough is enough.Money and Sex dominate
the industry,and i've had enough.
If you listened real good last night when Leona sang, the vocal chords were being abused.
Thank goodness we have Katharine. No rush,no hurry, but determined to reach her goal with dignity and
class.
Keep your ears and eyes open people, our young lady is approaching stardom. It won't be long___

Bleeding Love is in need of a transfusion........boring/repititious song and the overexposed,over-rated Leona is not very exceptional!
Simon can do all his pimping, but the truth is Leona Lewis can't hold a candle to Katharine McPhee....or any other great singers to come out of American Idol!
The truth is Leona is merely an ego trip for Simon Cowell.....with $100 million,he certainly doesn't need the money.....although he might be adivsed to spend some of it on clothes instead of all those cars!

I've been working really hard and haven't had much time to listen to the radio, so last night was the first time I've heard LL. What is all the fuss about? I think Katharine can sing circles around her, unless last night was a bad night, or something. I wish Katharine had had that song to sing for her first single though. Whoever picked it did a good job. I miss not hearing Katharine.

I had never heard Leona Lewis before last night (what can I say, I'm a country girl at heart)... but what I did hear, I hated. She was subpar... average vocal... just yuck, I don't get it!

I think Leona is a fine vocalist, and she's getting a lot of backing and a good first single. It's like with her, she's getting everything done just right, the material is right, the timing is right, etc. and with Katharine it was just the opposite for some reason. Everything was rushed and badly timed and people are still fighting over whether the singles choices were right or not... and in the back of my mind I can hear Simon gushing about how LL was the best he'd ever heard on any version of Idol... and it gives me a bit of insight into how the Daughtryfans and Yaminions used to feel (I hope it's in the past). As soon as somebody hands K. a platinum record I'll feel much better.

I agree that Leona did a super job on Idol last night, but also she was given the perfect song for her voice range, and that as soon as Katharine gets that perfect song which I think David Foster will get her, much attention will then be directed as to what a superior artist Katharine is.

On another note: Does anyone recall the article about when Katharine was on Idol that they had to be careful of the lighting because it showed right thru her dress? Well if anyone has Leona on tape or tivo from last night the lighting for the first 3 or 4 verses of her performance focused on her frontal view and you could see right thru her dress an slip.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. That my friends is Katharine McPhee

Here is my theory. & opinion.not sure when Leona Lewis won the X-factor in England but if it was before Kat's time.. I feel Simon being the producer of X-Factor already made  up his mind  to threw his promotion $$$ with the help of Clive D to LL.  Thus there was no hard push to promote Kat well.

I'm trying to relate to Leona Lewis singing but have not had a special connection with her as yet.  I feel Kat sings much better and kat's CD with the exception of one song on her CD is better than Leona's.

Amanda_

Your right on.Take a look at her video, and you'll see __Sex written all over it.

LL won the UK Idol crown about six months after Katharine's appearence in AI.
Clive and Simon got to her after her big success in the UK,[Last Fall}
The money they have spent on her promotions is obscene.

I like "Bleeding Love" and I wish Katharine would have had something like that as her first single because it shows off the singer's vocal ability a lot more than Over It did but...whatever.

I noticed the "see-thru" part of Leona's dress below the waist in the lights right away.  I thought that was funny because Katharine experienced the same thing when she was on Idol.

I don't have any problem with Leona at all.  My issue is with all the overdone praising of her as the greatest singer to come along is a zillion years that TPTB from the Idol empire are doing with her.

As for her performance last night...you can tell all the appearances are wearing on her vocal cords.  I saw her on Ellen a few weeks ago and she was excellent.  Last night...not so much.  You could tell she was cutting off some of the high notes because it wasn't there last night.  It happens...especially when Clive & Simon are trying to "bleed" every last cent out of her.

I'm not sure I get the hype about LL at all after watching her perform last night. Not great stage presence at all and yes, I am joining the "I'm sick of hearing that song" club!

in my mind the ultimate "Idol" contestant of the pre-lapsarian era, the one who most perfectly combined the demands for relentless emotive singing and the wow factor -- Katharine McPhee

Simon's antics and hype notwithstanding, LL is a talented singer and 'Bleeding Love' is a pretty good single, though I don't see it as a #1.  She even sounds a bit like Kat in some sections of the song. As others have already noted, it's ashame that Kat didn't receive the kind of support that Leona is. But that's no reason to hold it against LL, on the contrary, I'm very happy for her. Kat's time will come. Soon.

I actually like Leona Lewis, have read several articles about her and she is just completely deserving of what she's becoming at the moment. Timing is everything in the music biz and perfect timing is what she got. I am looking forward to her growing career.
