"...Anything worth anything takes time...." how true ! Cheers ps - why does my heart grow warm whenever I see a KAT message????? *winks*
Sometimes when you try to accomplish things to quickly they wind up backfiring. I think Katharine has the perfect outlook on her career that good things will come to good people in good time
In some ways (and of course I probably wouldn't be saying this right now if the debut album had done as well as Daughtry's but...) I think in the long run it might be better that she didn't explode onto the scene immediately here. She's done enough to still be interesting to people to get on magazine covers and get signed to a major endorsement deal almost two years since she was on Idol. But she's still at that point where she's going to have to keep searching to find herself musically and really...and whenever I say this it makes it sound like I don't like the first album (I do!) but if that one would have done really well she pretty much would have had to do a second one that was close to the same thing. Now, because it only did OK (I'm going going to call 370,000 records & a gold single a failure...by no regular standards is that a failure for a debut artist...the Idol world skews everything) she's going to have the freedom to do what she really does best the next time around. So it's going to take a little longer than we all hoped but I think it'll lead to her having a longer, more relevant career because the kind of artist I believe she's going to morph into age much more gracefully than pop stars do.
