It means a lot and is so encouraging. I am returning home from being in NY for a bit. Had a lot of business stuff to take care of. Boy was it cold most of the time. Looking forward to getting back to warm weather. When you are so used to being in warm weather most of the time, ouch, its cold. Also I was going to send a note tonight regarding Idol but since a lot of people know already I am sending a note out now. I will be on the results show this next week. I am performing with David Foster and really looking forward to it. Its going to be so surreal being back at the studio and stage again and I can hardly wait. Its really exciting. Also the Randy Jackson track comes out the day before so I'd say its going to be a great week. Randy was terrific to work with and I had a blast in the studio with him. Kat appearing LIVE with David Foster on Idol is BIG!!! Maybe some super important news to go along with a fantastic perfprmance.
I've been reading all kinds of speculation about what she might sing, but seeing as how it's Beatles night, and I love this song, and if you think about it, it's almost like a companion piece to She's Got A Way About Her (only you'd have to switch pronouns), I'd kind of like to hear this one... only she'd make everybody else look sick, so maybe she should just sing something totally different.

I'd figured it would be Real Love because of the timing, but with Foster instead of Elliott, surely it's got to be something else. A sneak preview from the new album? Too early for that? Guess we'll know in three days.
Be it a new song, old, cover, beatles' medley.... any ditty from Kat serenading us would be awesome. Just Katharine plus David Foster on AI stage. A very ideal and beautiful scenario.
Dollars to doughniuts it's a song she's recording for the new album. It would be ashame to "waste" such a big opportunity on a cover. Who knows, maybe DF wrote something especially for her!
But as goody said, anything she sings will be awesome!
If I had to venture a guess, she just might sing "Unforgettable".....simply because she would be comfortable with David's arrangement having performed it just a short while ago. Also, it might make sense if their schedules didn't coincide in the short time frame since the wedding to come up with something new. I sure wouldn't mind hearing it as it is one of my all time favorites!

I have a feeling the George Harrison estate may keep that out of the official Beatles catalog. Then again, Taylor Hicks sang it in Season Five--and that was before the Beatles catalog had clearance on the show. That's why I think all Beatles tunes used on the show are actually ones written by Lennon/McCartney (or McCartney/Lennon for those who think Lennon was overrated).
Hearing Kat sing the Beatles would be interesting, though maybe not her true comfort zone. Singing Rock isn't her true strongest category. Even so, the Beatles ballads "In My Life", "A Day in the Life" or "And I Love Her" would be amazing under her artistic control.
Anyway, it's great to hear from Kat in those MySpace blogs again, despite driving fans with OCD crazy that she wrote it at 8:59 rather than 9:00. I get the feeling that the "AI" song may not be a surprise (perhaps expect DF to accompany on "Real Love" just to have an excuse being there)--and then maybe that surprise announcement we're all expecting of the two working on an album together. If it's a preview for a single--it would be a completely different marketing move from the usual. Typically, the single would be available that day so people watching can go out and buy it that night (or the next morning) and take it to #1. It wouldn't necessarily floor me to see David Foster attempt to do something different in the marketing arena just to get Kat back into the national consciousness. She needs that right now.
Great to see Kat appreciating people keeping in communication with her. I have to go over and write a quick something before the onslaught of people cramming her email box starts all over again during the middle part of this coming week...
