I contacted a rep at RCA, and he said there are no plans for a third single. Therefore, we are making "Everywhere I Go" chart-eligible for Idol Waves Online Radio (www.idolwaves.com), then "Home" afterward. I've decided this based on the tons of requests and feedback I've gotten from Kat fans.

thanks. EIG is the best choice overall i think based on the popularity.

Man, that really sucks

While most of us fans are disappointed in her sales, and the bigtime lack of promotion, I wish RCA wouldn't give up on her current album like that.  Im disappointed in RCA

It just honks me off that there's a lot of good music on there that is kind of going to waste. More people should be hearing it. That is all.

Agree.  Hopefully next album RCA/Sony BMG goes all out and promotes her the right way this time and actually gets radio play, and more than just one concert a week!

Sad yes; unexpected, no.

Kat pretty much implied that there were no more singles coming.
I understand this from the pop perspective: there really aren't any pop chart toppers left on the album.
But I would have liked to see one or two of the ballads released to AC radio just to give the people who voted for Kat something that they would appreciate. I think many of those people have heard nothing at all from this album, except maybe Over It.

Thanks kenndawg, at least someone will be playing EIG and Home.

I agree, Bill. Since the record company forced Kat to record those traditional ballads, why not give them a shot on AC radio?

The news of no more singles is not surprising at all. Katharine did say this just before shooting IKWBL and she implied the debut album was history in terms of promotion, etc. The album and singles suffered such a lackluster performance that spending any more money just doesn't make sense on any chart. Hanging on to that album will never make a difference at this point. Put it to rest and wait for the next album, hopefully it will perform better ultimately.

that sucks, hope her next album does better. Kat's songs should be topping the charts, instead of dumb songs like gimme more.

Wow, this news is just so incredibly sad and stupid IMO. The clowns running RCA seem to have absolutely no clue what to do with their artists these days and not just Kat. How much does it cost to simply release a single for airplay? Why not give one of those songs a chance on it's own with no promotion? Wait that's what they did with LS.

But seriously 'd like to hear official word from Kat herself what are the future plans for her musical career. I am really saddened it will be a year at the earliest before we hear a new CD if even then. Plus this means we will never get to hear the unreleased tracks as well. Although not unexpected, I'm personally devastated by this news. No more Kat on the radio for a year at least. how incredibly sad that is.

I think often we look at other songs and say if Kat did blah blah, she would have had a hit, but it's not always so...most of the time it's the song plus the Artist's styling, attitude, gimmick and whatever that makes it a hit. I look at Kat's album and it didn't do as well as say, Amy Winehouse...Amy has her own edge that worked for her, but neither Kat nor Amy could be a success singing one another's songs. Amy would have looked ridiculous standing next to Andrea and Kat would look ridiculous in a beehive LOL (That was a just joke, but you get what I mean) I think RCA did wrong by Katharine by not offering material that defined "Kat" and promotion was weak. BUT, I think this experience will give Kat a chance to look at her "musical nature and styling" and find the perfect partnership of self and song, so that "believable" will never be questioned....it will just be a profoundly "obvious" coupling.

You make some great points, but if you're implying that an artist should just stick to a genre where they're most believable, I disagree. For example, Linda Ronstadt has had success in pop, standards, and country.

I never thought "believability" would be a problem for Kat, considering her acting skills. There was a thread last year about how Kat was able to portray so many different characters on Idol. The only time she seemed unconvincing to me was when she sang "Hound God/All Shook Up". So I was shocked when Kat seemed so tentative performing "Over It" on the Tonight Show. She got better with time, but first impressions count.
