Just read on idf that Kat may be auditioning for Rob Marshall's(Chicago,Memoirs of a Geisha)Nine!This film will be based on the 1982 Broadway musical of the same name!Kat's name is already on the imdb site for the film;listed as"rumored"!The director is seeking several female leads who are beautiful and can sing/dance....isn't that type casting for Kat?? Also being considered:Rene Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones...who were the stars of Chicago.This would be a huge break for Kat and is extremely exciting!!!!!

^Kat auditoning for "Nine" is purely fan speculation at this point. The imdb screen cap was a photoshop job someone made as a joke.

They did however make a compelling argument about the timing and events that occured that leave the door wide open for a possible audition in early July, but it's best not to get your hopes up just yet.  I agree it would be pretty awesome if Kat could be a part of this!

This reminds me of the old joke about a star's progression through Hollywood.

If they were in the same musical, she'd better be sure to use a taste tester for anything CZJ hands her to eat or drink. Maybe that's what she bought little Larry for.

Sorry guys....bamboozled by the photoshopped imdb entry!! Actually,the thought of two of the most beautiful women in the world sharing the screen could be quite overwhelming;especially since many people think Kat and CZJ are look-alikes!

Hey,there's always hope!!Another musical is in the works for 2009....Jekyll and Hyde: based on the long-running Broadway show.Has a beautiful score and two female leads.....Jekyll's fiance, and a woman of the night!!

Okay, so what do we see her as? The virginal fiancee or the Ingrid Bergman part? I can still hear parts of that little song she liked to sing about loving to dance, and how it started out showing you what a party girl she was, and then it became Hyde's theme as he forced her to sing it (and then murdered her), and became the harbinger of a J-to-H changeover as he would start whistling it as he walked along. Loved that movie.

The prostitute character in the musical has the more dramatic,show stopping songs....originally done by the fabulous,Linda Eder!!

Yeah, I see Kat playing the Carla character rather than Claudia in a movie adaptation of "Nine." It makes more sense in a way for her to play the protege, Claudia...but Carla is the most compelling character just because of who she is.

I also see Antonio Banderas being in the movie version--because he was quite popular in that recent Broadway revival he did. Despite not being really Italian...he seems more like Fellini than the real one was.

Remember that thread Minnie started here months ago suggesting Kat should be cast in a movie version of this? At the time, apparently some rumors were rumbling about Rob Marshall directing a movie version of "Nine." And I have a feeling it'll remain a rumor until it's out of development hell as films like this will surely get. Musical film adaptations have to be proven all over again to succeed at the box-office (well, "Hairspray" is helping that case again right now)...so a lot of talking about it will likely go on for a while.

One great thing about this project is that it takes place in the early 60's. With that, Kat can do a period film at last and show how realistic she is depicting styles from that time. We know she can pull off 60's fashions already based on some photoshoots from last year that made her look identical to models in magazines from that era.

Also, hearing Kat talk and sing in an Italian accent is worth the admission price right there. I'm sure she picked up on the nuances of it when hanging out in Italy earlier this year. Besides, more research means more time spent in Italy for her again...if she doesn't get mobbed by the entire male population there at the airport.

Well, she seems to have a natural gift for mimicry, so that should help with doing an accent if she ever has to.
