RCA is blaming a lack of requests for the lack of airplay!
What are you gonna do about it!
I'd sign up for both Minnesota & Wisconsin myself, but unfortunately I'll be out of the country for all of the next week & a half. However, here's a little "insider info" for anyone who might like to try either of those 2 states:
1.) In Minnesota, you'll have the best chance at KDWB (101.3 FM). I hounded them back in the early days of this year, when we were trying to get OI on the air. After they finally started to give it some spins, I used to make 2-3 requests per day, every day. In fact, now that LS is out, I still make an avg of 2-3 requests per day, (either phone or email), but for LS now. No spins yet, but I'm still hoping! Their request info is:

2.) Also in Minnesota, the "other" station here is KSTP (ie: KS95 @ 94.5 FM). This will be a MUCH harder nut for Kat (& us) to crack!! I also spent a lot of time "hounding" them back when we were all trying to get OI on the air. They'd played it just a handful of times in Jan, but then dropped it & never played it again! I apparently made enough of an impact on them afterwards w/ my constant requests for OI that I managed to get a call-back from their Music Director, a Ms. Jill Roen. After what I thought was a nice chat, she agreed to "give Over It another look & reconsider her decision to drop it." However, I also got a response from one of their DJ's about a week later, (who I won't mention by name, as I'd hate to cause them any problems), who is also a fan of Kat's. I was told by this DJ back then that KS95's "Management" had done an "Audience-Survey" on Kat and decided that OI wasn't worth playing. It NEVER got any more airtime on KS95! Now, recently, I've been back in touch & making lots of requests again, trying to get LS on their air. I've been ignored by everyone there but that same DJ, who just recently told me that they'd also tried to get LS played, but that their "Management" (Ms. Roen, perhaps??) had decided that Kat's WHOLE CD was "Unworthy" & that they would NOT be playing ANYTHING from Kat on KS95! This DJ wasn't happy about it, and neither am I, but this station sounds like a "dry well" for us Kat-Phans. Unless, of course, they get really BOMBARDED by requests for LS?... Their request info is:

3.) In Wisconsin, the station in Green Bay, WKSZ (95.9 FM), has been playing LS fairly frequently, and currently has it in the regular playlist on their station. Last week it was #28, over the weekend it was #27, and as of today, it's now #26!!! According to Yes.com, they've started to play it a lot! I've been sending semi-regular emails to one of their DJ's, a guy by the name of Brian, and he seems to like Kat too. He seems pretty quick to play LS whenever I request it, anyway, and would probably be a good person to send a "request-a-day" email to, just for the positive reinforcement, & chance for increasing spins, etc. Their request info is:

Oh, and one other thing... That "unnamed" DJ that I mentioned above also told me that they're having a hard time convincing the station management to play LS because,... "the Label doesn't seem to be supporting the song, and it's hard to get it on the air when that happens!"

It's going to hurt to lose one of our best soldiers during this most crucial time! I challenge anyone who reads this to pick up the slack in SoldOnKat's absence!
Several fans are working very hard to organize a mass effort to request Love Story over the next two weeks! If radio doesn't play it, it won't be because we didn't try! Kat has TV appearances on Regis + Kelly and Leno next week, so we are going to try to capitalize on this momentum!
I urge each and every one of you, if you care about Katharine's career in music at all, please join the effort to request Love Story and try to get Kat on the air! Regardless of what you believe about requests, Kat has asked US to get the word out!

HEADS UP!! I think I need a little extra PUUUSH from some fellow Kat-Phans in my area! Yes, I know, this "Love Story Request Campaign" is just getting underway, and I don't want to "hog" anyone's efforts in my direction alone, but.... Here's an update on one of "my" stations!
I posted a note here 2 days ago that one of my local Minneapolis stations , KS95-FM, would likely be a "hard nut for Kat & us to crack", as they'd already decided that they would NOT be playing it. Well, I "may" have spoken too soon!!! I JUST got an email response from Ms. Jill Roen, who is KS95's Music Director! (After sending her dozens & dozens of email song requests for LS, along w/ calling in on a daily basis.) Her note was short & polite, but "implied" that they MIGHT be thinking about giving LS a second look!! Unfortunately, I'm LEAVING on a trip & won't be here to do any follow-up "push" with a re-doubled effort on the requests. As I've been told that this is apparently the TOP rated HAC station in the whole country, it would be WONDERFUL if we could get LS spun on KS95!! (ie: It's only the 16th biggest market, but nationally it's the #1 rated HAC station by "percentage of local market-share!")
So, could ANYONE help me out here w/ just a few polite & well timed "once-a-day" song requests while I'm gone next week??
