I live in the L.A. area and have been to Sherman Oaks several times before. I'm still pretty ticked that Sherman Oaks didn't do anything for Katharine. I feel like making and distributing flyers around Sherman Oaks tomorrow and asking people there to support the hometown girl by voting for her and coming to the screening party in Universal Citywalk. I went to Sherman Oaks today and all I saw on Ventura boulevard (the main boulevard in Sherman Oaks) was one sign for Kat saying: "Sherman Oaks has McPheever". I don't think it should be like this. Sherman Oaks is actually a part of the city of Los Angeles, however neighborhoods in L.A. are fiercely provincial (as in people care much more about their neighborhood than the city as a whole), as demonstrated with Sherman Oaks being recognized as a city by the U.S. Postal Service. Hometown support is important IMO because these are the people in the same area where one lives. Taylor can go back to Birmingham and everyone will treat him as a star. Same with Elliott. But Kat won't get the same treatment.

Haha! I saw that same sign! I was going to Universal Studio a couple of days ago and I decided to take a detour passing through Sherman Oaks. Anyway, we DO need to convince people from Sherman Oaks.
