I got kinda peeved when all the top 1-5 (except for #2) get to apper on AI6 and gained from their 5min apperance... what happened? Kat should have been there performing,,,??

We need to stop comparing Kat to the other AI alumni and to think of her as what she really is... a new artist. Because Kat is really the only Idol finalist ever to start off their music career by tossing away all expectations and forging a completely new image and musical direction. So it's not at all fair to look at Kellie's sales, or Elliotts sales, or Chris' sales or even Taylor's sales, because they all followed along the proven path by making albums consistent with their show performances.

And we need to keep reminding ourselves that, for a brand new artist, Kat is doing quite well indeed. Far from dying, she's been thriving, and hopefully Love Story will catch on and breathe new life into her album sales.

Also remember that we are instrumental in this process. I know it's tough to keep up the intensity level over such a long period of time, but KAT NEEDS US! We have to keep up with the requests, the polls, the votes, whatever we can do to promote our girl!

After 10 weeks Kat had sold 291,055 and Elliott sold 236,940. So, in the same period of time Kat sold over 54,000 more CDs than Elliott. Why is everyone unaware of this fact and claiming he is doing so much better than her?

Considering she is a new artist, has not gotten ANY publicity from AI, and has only released one single and has sold more then 300,000 copies of her album is a great start, so I wouldn't doubt her just yet.

And I'm sorry but Over It was just not a song that was going to get people into the shops to buy an album...Kat was right when she said OI was not the best lead single.
I find it so funny how people are so easy to judge people they don't know, but think they have the right to scrutinize others because those "others" are celebrities. From Britney Spears to Katharine McPhee radio hosts and magazines will always make unfair statements and allegations. I am fans of both Britney and Katharine, two totally different artists, but I find that whether you are a icon or a promising newcomer from a hit reality show, the punches and jabs will come and never stop...but I have news for the haters, they won't stop either so you can take your opinions and give them to people that care, because the fans are like, SO over it.

You guys are starting to look at the numbers with a microscope again. Numbers alone don't tell the entire story. Exposure, endorsements also mean a great deal in establishing a new artist. Right now she is getting plenty of exposure (!!!!) on Comcast.net where they are highlighting her in the video fan, where they talk about her Vegas magazine shoot. She is doing fine.....

THANK YOU!  There's this perception that Katharine is doing poorly compared to other Idols.  She isn't.  Other than Daughtry, she's doing just fine compared to everyone else (Taylor's sales were entirely Soul Patrol and nothing else).  Kellie's sales are impossible to compare because well...she released three months earlier plus she got Christmas plus she got an Idol appearance.

Another thing about the Elliott comparision.  Kat's CD was released at the end of January (a dead period).  Elliott's came out in mid-March (much better sales time).

And this is true as well....seriously people.  I know Taylor has sold twice as many albums but if you went and asked just random people on the street that pay attention to the entertainment world in general do you think any of them know that?  You think any of them know Kat's sales aren't that spectacular?  All they know is they see her on Access Hollywood all of the time, she's on the covers on magazines, she's in the People's & USWeekly's of the world.

RELAX...and we're only one single in.  Love Story is just getting started.  I use this example of the time but KT Tunstall's album wasn't going anywhere for 3 1/2 months until a pretty brunette from Sherman Oaks sang her song on a talent show.  All it takes is one song and off she'll go.  Is the song Love Story?  We'll find out in the next 2-3 months.
