Ok so basically I'm going to make this MUCH shorter than the other reviews I have written lately ...

Basically we get to the Metropolitian Room early and the lady checking us in tells us that we were put in VIP - I'm like OOKK weird, but whatever haha.gif

So we finally go sit at our table and we see someone who looks like Kat - but its not Kat, its Adriana. Then a few minutes later we get word that the "bird has landed". Kat spends a few minutes in the lobby talking to people then makes her way into the room. She puts her stuff down and says hello to a few friends and family. While she is giving her hugs - she spots me first (I THINK) and starts to wave. I FREAK and wave back w00twave.gif . Then I think she starts making her way towards us but she stops and talks to this teenage boy and takes a photo with him. So I'm like OK, guess she wasn't coming over sad.gif Then she starts walking right at us and I'm like THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!! Sure enough she comes right up to us and leans against the booth where we were sitting. First words she speaks are "Hey guys, I don't think of you as fans anymore, you are like friends". I COULD HAVE CRIED!!!

Basically she spends about 15 minutes at the table talking to us ... it was amazing!!! I'll include a few of my favorites: She wasn't sure of Jamie and Amanda's names so Amanda was like telling her all our names and gets to me and goes "that's Jenn" and Kat goes "JENNNNNIFER" haha.gif Then Steph & Melissa were asking about gifts we had given her and she said she had them at home but hadn't looked at them yet. So then she turns to me and goes "I just looked at the Nena scrapbook, I love it, its soo cute". wub.gif UMM yes I was all quiet. The I joked about being soo quiet around her, she goes "Yea I know you are" and then "Tonight you are really talking though". We asked for pictures and she said after the show she would be around for a few minutes THEN all of a sudden the lights start to go down and shes like "OK GOTTA GO, see ya later"

So we wait around after the show (which is really fun BTW) and we make our way over to Kat because they were kicking us out getting ready for the next show. Kat's like "I promised them pictures" to the guy who was trying to kick us out. So Melissa was first for photos and I was ready to take the picture - Kat grabs the camera and is like "Girlfriends take pictures like this" and holds the camera out and makes a funny face. So basically we ALL got pictures like that original.gif

We met Peisha on Thursday night....and then after Kat left Adriana was still there, so we talked to her - she is SOOOO sweet. She took photos with us too original.gif

SO Peisha's Show...

No photos from the show, couldn't take any sad.gif So Momma P's show was actuallly quite entertaining. I couldn't tell you the songs cause I don't remember - but she talks about Kat and how nervous she was to put them on the bus for first grade, then imagine 15 years later having her on stage in front of millions of people on national TV and after she gets done singing hearing "Yo dawg, yo dawg you are no whitney" (AND yes she changed her voice too). She sang "In My Daughters Eyes" dedicated to both girls - it was very sweet.

She had this 18 year old boy Brandon with her - he sang 2 songs alone and then the last song with her. OMG he was soo HOT!!!! We got a picture with him too - I don't have it yet though.

OMG I forgot something really weird - So Kat takes the photos with all of us and then she meets up with Nick again. Melissa is standing right in front of me and Kat goes "Have you met Melissa yet?" and Nick was like "Yes I've meet Melissa." THEN he goes "Melissa & Jennifer" .... I'm LIKE did I just hear my name randomly from Nick's mouth!?!?! Then I was like OMG they talk about us?!?!?! haha.gif


Overall - great evening. Great family ... and Kat, honestly that girl does something everytime I meet her to top the meeting before haha.gif I never thought that was possible grin.gif

"The bird has landed."   Awesome review.  We should refer to you now as a Kat friend and Lucky Jenn!!  But of course, you have showed yourself as a friend like how many of us would be thoughtful to make a scrapebook dedicated to her love, Nena!!!  
We are definitely working together -- working on a record together. She sings so magnificently, it's just amazing -David Foster-

thanks so much for the Peisha recap. I was going to go with my Dad but his medical problem kept us from goin. Sounded like a real fun evening

Why? We love details!! I loved the "yo dawg" story. Whatever we might think of Idol right now, it's given Mama a lot of new material for her act!

OMG!!!!!

I was so depressed about being sick and missing Kat last Friday that I blew off Peisha's show....
and LOOK WHAT HAPPENS! Lessons in life, learned the hard way.

When Peisha gives you VIP seats to her show--you know you suddenly OWN NYC. Move over Donald Trump...even though he'd just buy up the Metropolitan Room in protest.

Thanks again, Jenn (and Melissa), for all the reviews and pictures. I've already stated most of my feelings in Melissa's review--but that night has to be the best place in the universe to have a chance to hear Peisha sing and also meet the entire family. The only person that was missing was Daddy Dan McPhee. Maybe he was there too, but you didn't see him. I wonder if he tears up when Peisha sings an emotional ballad?

I heard some others from the Kat community were going to be there. Melissa (the one from Lexi Lu) and her sister, Allison, were going to be at one of the shows. Maybe they were at the Saturday one. Otherwise, they would have been talking to Kat, because they know her...at least through emails and through Kat wearing their jewelry last year during 'AI.' I want to hear their impressions too--so here's a callout to Melissa to write a review if she's reading...

By the way, to those curious above: That Brandon guy's pic is in Melissa's review thread. When I saw that name, I thought it was a young girl who Peisha was introducing as a new talent. You obviously have to be careful when seeing the name "Brandon" due to it being used for both genders. But I think it's great Peisha's training young new talent like that to sing the classics. A lot of them are getting more and more into that thanks to some recent young talent who had the desire to sing that material in their blood. Michael Buble's probably the strongest force in that arena. Nevertheless, there ARE male cabaret singers in NYC...which is what Peisha may be training this Brandon guy for. Believe it or not, that's still a strong force in the clubs in the Big Apple.
