WHEN? IS IT OVER?
I find it so funny how people are so easy to judge people they don't know, but think they have the right to scrutinize others because those "others" are celebrities. From Britney Spears to Katharine McPhee radio hosts and magazines will always make unfair statements and allegations. I am fans of both Britney and Katharine, two totally different artists, but I find that whether you are a icon or a promising newcomer from a hit reality show, the punches and jabs will come and never stop...but I have news for the haters, they won't stop either so you can take your opinions and give them to people that care, because the fans are like, SO over it.

They didn't really snub her at the finale, it was for all the winners (Fantasia was working). They should have had her on during the season instead of Pickler or Elliott.

All they did was basically say how Chris Daughtry was doing better then her...thank ALOT for that info CLIVE...UGH.

I am pissed off. She deserved way better than this. I was sure that they would have her on and promote her but the poor album sales killed it for her. She is so talented. Her handlers really screwwed up. Where oh where is David foster.

I can't believe they didn't invite her. They always invite the runner-up to perform. I started watching this season because I was hoping to see Kat perform again but I don't think I'm interested anymore (In my country the show is televised with 3 weeks of delay). What is wrong with AI?!!!. This is so disappointing!!!

I was left with the desire to see her perform "Open Toes" with Blake...

I was very disappointed with this years AI finale. I mean Taylor was on but not Katharine? What the heck is up with that? She just has to return in season 7!!!

She should have gone with her strength and done a Norah Jones type album. Too late now but I think she last her post-idol edge.

I love all this monday morning quarterbacking!  Really.  I think it's cool that everybody has differing opinions.

I wasn't in love with Kat's album at first, but it keeps growing on me with each additional playing.  I kinda felt the same way for a long time, but I like the "poppy" Kat just about as well as the ballady Kat of old.

I don't agree with it, but I kind of see why  Kat wasn't on the show.  Did you notice that none of the runners-up were on the show?  Only the winners. 

But it still puzzles me why they didn't have Kat on earlier in the season???  Oh well... That's water under the bridge; now we have to focus on things to do to help Kat in the future, like requesting Love Story, etc.

I really don't think this was done to snub Kat. As others have pointed out, there was really no reason that Kat should have been on the finale. That was just wishful thinking on our part. But why didn't she appear eariler? Maybe it had something to do with the difficulty of performing 'Over It' live. Or maybe her management just didn't try very hard to get her on. I'm sure Kellie's and Elliott's management lobbied 19E very hard for their performance slots.

I'm sure too that it wasn't A.I.'s intention to snub Kat. But in not having her appear at anytime during the entire season, especially the fact that Elliott, Chris and Kellie (all who finished lower than her) appeared at different points during the season, that very act (intentional or not) makes it a snub. Especially since Kat put it out there that she would love to come back and perform this year. Heck, she lives just down the street for crapsakes. She even took the time this season to go backstage to visit the Top 20 and not one invite at all to perform is given to her? Also, if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time since season 2, (not counting season 1's Justin) that the runner-up has not been invited back. This is just wrong and A.I. should personally apologize to Kat, her family and to all her fans.

but kat has a contract with 19 ... why would she need to lobby them to be on? i don't understand this at all -- it clearly seems like a snub. the runners up usually perform. clay even performed last year. i haven't seen them treat anyone this poorly - or mismanage a career so badly - since justin guarini. and even justin is finally being welcomed back into the fold. i think we should all just be "over it" -- AI that is.

Pretty sure I saw almost everyone from AI season 5.... no Kat though?! Ace, Paris, Mandisa... etc... all on the red carpet... and NO KAT! Seriously... what a snub, and Clive kinda dissed her too not even mentioning her Gold status!

I think we are all VERY disappointed that Katharine didn't get an opportunity to be on this years show. I don't understand why she wasn't there. Makes you wonder....she is every bit as talented as the rest of them. There will never be another year like last year....lots and lots of talent last year. She is STILL and will always remain OUR AMERICAN IDOL! There is a song out there for Katharine that will someday blow all her young and old fans away! I just feel it. We LOVE YOU KATHARINE...YOUR FOREVER FANS!

Yes, PLEASE calm down people.

AI is a business involving many people, and so is the entertainment entity of Kat McPhee. And as in all business decisions there are many minute details that determine the outcome. But it is seldom 'personal' reasons that make a difference.

So it's not quite as simple as being 'snubbed' for a party invite. And Kat saying publicly that 'she would love to do the show if asked'' means little in real world negotiations. Given time, we may find out the  actual circumstances and reasons behind the decision. Until then it's better not to judge too harshly on conjecture.
