Kat posted a short new video Q&A in the exclusive section of the McPhee Club.

For non-members, Kat tells that she is off to Europe in July, and then maybe Australia in August.
I suppose that means the summer tour we were expecting is not going to materialize. So if you just have to see Kat this summer, try to make it to one of the remaining radio tour shows. There are still tickets remaining for a number of the shows.

Hmm. Do you have to be a certain level of fan? I'm a member but can't seem to find the video you speak of.

Short but sweet video there on the fanclub. Though I'm still waiting for Kat to get to the part where she's supposed to mention something about possibly returning to the theater stage. That's what the initial text teaser said during Part One. I guess we'll have to wait for weeks until we get to that particular segment. If Kat talked for an hour--we'll hear about it after it actually happens.

I appreciate Kat's philosophy behind McPheeClub and trying to provide a consolidated home for the most loyal fans. It's incredibly slow there right now, however, and participation is pretty much stuck in playing games in the Off-Topic section. But that's just a calm before the busyness I think. Once Kat starts doing those promised chats, etc., then everybody will be there...to subsequently crash the server.

On the tour: I figured Kat wouldn't have an extensive U.S. tour this time around. Her mention of touring in Europe/Australia through July during the Seattle KISS interview last Sunday pretty much gave that away. Apparently the request to be an opening act for a major musical superstar didn't happen. That's too bad it didn't happen for whatever reason. I still wonder if that major music star she was hoping for was John Legend. I don't know if the star themselves choose their opening act. You'd think John would be happy as punch to have Kat open for him. But maybe some thought she'd steal the show away. Kat's performances are so excellent that she still needs a show all to herself. At least she sort of had that with this limited radio promo tour.

Maybe Kat will have an extensive U.S. tour later in the year--say, perhaps fall. Her final single will probably be floating around the airwaves then. If that doesn't go through, though, I hope she'll get to work right away on a second album that will repair any disconnect her fanbase may have developed from this debut album. She needs to bridge that young and old chasm in her fans that happened in the last six months. If Babyface is willing--I hope he and Kat (or maybe David Foster and similar producers) can get to work on a project later this year that shows her more artistically truthful side.

It isn't a usual situation for an artist to go back into the studio this soon after the release of an album. They all want to have the luxury of recording at a slower pace in the name of "perfection". An album can take up to one year to record, it depends on the producer. We are all waiting to hear some songs that emphasize Katharine's superior vocal talent, and at this point, it's going to be a challenge to convince Katharine to abandon (not completely) her vision of an R&B/soul album. Most of us would love to see her work with Babyface and David Foster, but I think she needs one producer/mentor to guide her career and to record stuff that fits her talents. Both Edmonds and Foster are uber talented and have the expertise to accomplish this.

The overseas tour will do Kat a lot of good.

I'm really sorry guys, Barlo is right...all she talks about in this video is the fan club. I'm very confused, and too young to be going senile! I must have watched a different interview with the Europe/Austrailia stuff and mixed up the two. I'll post a link when I find it.
