Some of us on the ST thought it might be fun to have a quick poll to see which station people think might be the first to spin Love Story!

I have included many of the very early spinners for Over It, stations that she is doing  radio shows at, and some other great supportes of Kat and Over It.

Take a guess and see if you can pick who will be the first to play Kat's new single!

I'm picking NYC Z100 (WHTZ) because they have a Zootopia show coming up, and the'll want to promo Kat as much as possible over the next few weeks.

You left out KBKS in Seattle, Bill.  I think all stations she's doing concerts for are a strong possibility.  And considering 'Girls' Night Out' is the next one....

But I voted for KZHT in Salt Lake.  They've been the top spinner and they've lessened their OI play down to 3-4 per day lately.  I think Z100 will be in the early group but they are still playing OI quite a bit.

This same poll appeared on IDF this morning and I went with Z100 to get the ball rolling with K101 in San Francisco a close second. I agree that Wilkes Barre will be an early contributor as well.

I'm going w/ NY Z100 (WHTZ) for a number of reasons:
 
1.) Because they have a Zootopia show coming up w/ Katharine in it, and the'll want to promo Kat as much as possible over the next few weeks for that. 

2.) Because they were one of the earliest stations to spin OI. 

3.) Because they're SO big I predict that RCA is going to do a hard full-court-press to get them on-board for LS,... ASAP. 

And, finally,

4.) Because all along I've been quietly tracking OI on Z100's regular Playlist for months, and it's been slowly slipping recently, down to where it was last week at #19 or 20.  BUT,... as of this morning,... it's done a HUGH bounce back UP to #12 on their regular Playlist again!  This means that all of a sudden Kat's getting LOT's of airtime in NY again!  My guess is, the "Big Promo Push" is already underway!

"Go, Kat, Go!!!"

Interesting results both here and IDF. Z100 certainly seems to be the station of choice for most folks!

I went with KDWB... mainly because I'm from MN but also because she will be playing at their "Star Party" on May 24th.... they will probably play her a lot in the meantime to get the audience excited!

Here's a quick "Heads Up" for all of you on this topic!... Note where up above I'd previously mentioned that OI had just been "bumped" up NY-Z100's regular playlist to #12?... Well, I just checked it again, and as of this morning OI is now "Riding High" on their reg. playlist at #6!!!  Whooo-Hoooo!  Kat's suddenly getting LOT's of airtime spins in NY again!!

So what is going on with WHTZ-FM (z100)? I can see that OVER IT is listed as #6 on their play list as SoldOnKat said, but they have not played it at all today. I checked the WHTZ play list on YES.com and it doesn't even show on their top 100 songs. For at least a week it has shown on Yes.com as #4 when played and I've heard it multiple times each day. I heard it yesterday, I'm sure, and it still was listed as #4, but today when I looked up one of the times I remembered hearing it yesterday, it was listed as #205. Yikes! Is anyone but me still requesting it?

Z100 appears to have dropped Over It.  No spins yesterday, nothing today.  I don't think we can complain.  They played it 605 times, it's the #3 station for playing Over It behind Salt Lake & San Francisco.

I know...we know it's been played on at least two stations in Canada.  CJFM in Montreal & CIOO in Halifax!  And CIOO was without an interview from Katharine.  They've done that on their own.  LS is #293 on the Canadian charts!

Any small station anywhere could give it a spin or two. I think the thing to do is ask the question, which station will start spinning her regularly first? That might be what you mean by the question, but if not, I think a good qualifier would be "regularly" or at least "decent rotation."

Well no one voted for WSTW-FM in Wilmington DE on this site. We had 1 vote on IDF. Congrats to that one person for guessing right!! They and WERO in Greenville NC were the first 2 stations spinning Love Story in the USA!!

I think "regularly" is a better question.  Because the first two for Over It were NOT the first two to start spinning it regularly.  The first station to actually put OI into rotation was WBHT in Wilkes-Barre.

Yes, but if you look back at Over It they were two of the first radio stations to spin it, Jan 3 and Jan 4. So makes sense that they would climb on board soon (WSTW - 410/WERO - 267 spins for OI to date so another reason they climbed on board - they played it quite a bit, and still are just a wee bit). And congrats to you for at least choosing WSTW as one of the stations on the list. Now again, who will be the first to put it into 'rotation?" - THAT is the $64,000 Question!
