I know, this is off topic, but the wonderful folks at LexiLu Designs (they designed the jewelry that Katharine wore on American Idol last year and Jordin wears occasionally this year) has an opportunity to win the "On the Rise" award for hottest emerging designer. It would be nice if we could help them win this. They have done much for Katharine, Peisha, and the Lollipop Theater Network (a charity Katharine supports). All you need to do is go to the following page, enter LexiLu Designs in the jewelry category (it's at the top of the list), and their website URL, www.lexilu.net. You could also win a $500 shopping spree by casting your vote. One ballot per email address only. Thanks Don! Melissa from LexiLu is a talented designer, a gigantic Kat fan, and a wonderful, generous person. Please help her out by doing what Kat fans do best...VOTE-VOTE-VOTE! And those of you who are going with me to the Manhattan Club to see Peisha on June 1st will get a chance to meet Melissa and her sister- the other half of their outstanding LexiLu jewelry designing team.

I had no idea we had the opportunity to do this, Don--so thanks for spreading the news. Melissa really is a thoughtful and generous person--and we've been communicating in emails since I helped on one of the banners for Lexi Lu. Some of you may not know that Melissa's making a collage for Kat to see of the people wearing the Hope necklace Melissa and her sister (Allison) created to raise funds for the LTN. My mom's included in the collage--as well as some other people (I think) connected to members in the Kat community. I still encourage people to buy one of the Hope necklaces if they can or some of their other jewelry--because they truly are an innovative company that's becoming better-known all the time. Anyway, I'll put in numerous votes tonight. If any of you have been on the Lexi Lu site--you'll see a section devoted to the media they've already been mentioned in the last several years. They've been mentioned in prominent magazines. Also, Melissa has the ultimate sixth-sense in picking the favorite female on the show to display their jewelry. First it was Kat, and now it's Jordin. Are we in for a threepeat next year? Too bad Melissa didn't play the 'AI6' pool here this year...though I think a lot of us figured Jordin would obviously do well on the show. But she's slowly proving how diverse she truly is. Incidentally, Jordin was seen wearing Lexi Lu's Hope necklace on one of those online Idol Extra shows last month. Good luck to Melissa and Allison on winning this. Not many CEO's of companies are as generous and friendly as they are. I just wish 'AI' would mention the name of the company live on the air rather than people at home wondering where the jewelry on the female favorite comes from.

I find it so funny how people are so easy to judge people they don't know, but think they have the right to scrutinize others because those "others" are celebrities. From Britney Spears to Katharine McPhee radio hosts and magazines will always make unfair statements and allegations. I am fans of both Britney and Katharine, two totally different artists, but I find that whether you are a icon or a promising newcomer from a hit reality show, the punches and jabs will come and never stop...but I have news for the haters, they won't stop either so you can take your opinions and give them to people that care, because the fans are like, SO over it.
