Actually I don't think most of us gave this too much of our time.  I know I didn't.  As someone who has been a subscriber to FHM, Stuff, and Maxim for several years now I feel confident in saying that Kat earned this one pretty much on her own.  Sure we put in a few of our own votes, but out of 6 million we probably only accounted for a very small percentage.  Let's face it.  This list, to put it bluntly, is about hot chicks.  The guys who voted on this thing probably don't care too much that Kat is the girl from American Idol.  They only know two things: a) She's extremely hot!  And b) She has some sort of talent or other quality that makes her appealing.  Now if we could only get these guys to the record store.

They should have printed a picture of her album cover in FHM. That might have struck a responsive chord. then somewhere along the way they might have discovered that she can sing.

It certainly fits in with the theme of the magazine.  I love that they linked the OI video next to her pic.  Hopefully a few of those poor souls will be joining our ranks very soon.

That is fantastic news...though maybe a little concerning that Kat may be slowly turning into a sex symbol which can potentially overshadow her musical artistry if not careful. I have yet to see one serious musical artist (who happens to get on these lists) be able to have their musical artistry stay front and center (yes, there's a pun in there somewhere) when their physical beauty is overwhelming. The good news, obviously, is that Kat managed to make her artistry obvious during her run on Idol. Back then, she made herself look a little plainer, which you can see now was slightly and smartly calculated by her so she could be taken seriously as an artist.

The question is now: Will she be able to keep the music separate from the beauty--or will they just ultimately mesh with one another in a pop career? If you mesh the two...it makes the music become much less-respected by critics. Though if anybody can balance the two, Kat could. So far she has--though mainly because her beauty is unassuming to her. Perhaps now that she's finally making these lists celebrating her beauty...she's ultimately going to be dogged with questions about it in every single interview. I guess that's better than being asked about Scientology for the umpteenth time. At least we've read a lot of good interviews analyzing the music in recent months. From this point on, however, it may have just changed.

Yeah, the voting on FHM's site for Kat a while back was easy enough. It was a write-in, of course, but I remember they had her name in memory once you started typing a "Kat..." That shows they've had her in mind for a while now and just waited to get the general consensus.

By the way, I put an invite out for women to go in and vote when the link was up here weeks ago. If FHM got word a lot of women voted...I wonder if some of the staff would cry out for a recount.

I really don't think it will be a problem for Katharine to balance her superior physical appearance with her vocal talent. Beyonce does it very well and one aspect of the package doesn't necessarily have to suffer in favor of the other.

Fantastic! I drink to that!  Iv always considered Her as a phenomenal natural beauty and  a talent more than sexy girl. But its incredible: It is the famous FMH list  and straight to the top (second to well known Jessica Alba..)! Being super hot is a part of being a pop superstar.  As stated above, I don't think it hurts Beyonce at all that she's super beautiful.  If you've got talent, you've got talent.  I think everyone knows Kat can sing.  That's one of the great things about Idol.  We all know she isn't some Britney Spears like creation that can't really sing all that well.

I don't think our voting was that significant with this.  8 million votes?  Especially when you had to type in her name to fill it out.  And I don't remember there being any widespread campaign to vote for this like there was with the IT GIRL award.

I think the world recognizes Katharine's beautiful, sexy, gorgeous, talented and every other word you can come up with to fit her!

My head is still twirling as furious as those hoops she did in the "horse" shot .. Then they got even more so, after some fans here posted those animated gifs (twisted! among others) here... Now she is again posted on so many magazine covers....I am so twirlingly so furiously.... *heh*
