If they put little pieces of simulated snow inside that thing--Kat will freak out!

This really is an exciting thing...as well as proving that Kat truly is the most exciting singer to come out of at least one or two generations in Hollywood. I'm beginning to wonder if they actually created the title of this award just for her...because I have heard of the YHA--though never that particular-titled award. Yes, they've had ones for singers, but not so named.

Quite frankly, they could have had Kat win an overall "Most Exciting Star" award. Her singing is exciting, but so are her other emerging talents. Even her small amounts of acting in various things has had many buzzing in the industry. Though as with Barbara Streisand, Kat will probably always have her singing as her main base in the talent field.

For those just coming aboard here: Go to the photo section and take in these photos as Mark above said. You're going to see definitive proof that Kat could get a "Most Exciting Red Carpet Model" award as well as any other award they can find. Those have to be her most gorgeous and glamorous in her photographic canon so far. I don't know when we'll stop saying that after each subsequent collection usurps the other...but maybe it'll finally happen once Kat hits 50.

  On the Scene: Young Hollywood Awards
April 23, 2007

Hot off the red carpet -- it's brand-new gossip from Jessica, Hilary, Katharine McPhee and all of young Hollywood!

Young Hollywood was out in droves last night -- and our THEA ANDREWS was in the middle of the starlet madness with queens of the scene JESSICA ALBA, HILARY DUFF, KATHARINE McPHEE and KATHERINE HEIGL.

The glamour girls were all out in support of Movieline's Young Hollywood Awards -- honoring stars in movies, TV and music, like LUDACRIS, DANE COOK and DAKOTA FANNING.

'Accepted' star JUSTIN LONG served as hot host of the event, where awards like "Breakthrough Performance" and "Exciting New Face" were handed out.

Katharine McPhee received the Exciting New Vocalist honor from "Idol" judge RANDY JACKSON, while Hilary Duff presented Ludacris with Today's Superstar award. Katherine Heigl walked away with the coveted Superstar of Tomorrow title, given to her by "Grey's Anatomy" pal T.R. KNIGHT.

What's Movieline? Who decides who gets what? This isn't a vote-for-the-best type of thing, is it? My ignorance is hanging out all over the place here but I never heard of this and I'm curious. Who's honoring our girl anyway? I'm starting to get that parental tone again... (Who gave you that? Some boy? Who is he? Do I know him? What's it supposed to mean? Is there something I should know?? You're grounded!)

The public doesn't vote...a panel at Movieline decides...this show is pretty well known at this point. Usually all the up and coming Stars are present...

I think this is the first award Katharine has won that hasn't been part of a fan vote.  So that's really cool!

She's got Angelina beat by a mile. A. looks like she's puckering even when she's not. K. gets to reserve her million dollar pucker for special occasions so it doesn't get old.

I wonder if she has ANY idea how we pore endlessly over every picture, every word, every gesture, every fashion change, every chance remark... Somehow I think she still doesn't quite grasp the true nature of celebrity. You belong to the world. Fans make you a combination friend-role model-pinup-hobby-deity and that is a weird combination of things, but it's the other side of "we'll vote for you til our fingers bleed."
