I was in the car with my mom today when I heard on KOST 103.5 ... "By request here is Taylor Hick's new single...." So, Taylor, Elliott, and Chris have been played on the radio in the LA area, but not Katharine (with exception of AT 40). That makes me upset....what more can we do to get Katharine heard???

It's the same station who had been playing Tay's single DIMYP a while back. They are so good with him. I hope Kat's next single would be played in LA radio.

Kat's chosen style of music just seems to be at odds with the LA music scene, where many pop stations are apparently 'too urban' to add Over It. Maybe Open Toes or Each Other would have an easier time there. Over It has done much better in less urban areas, such as Z100, which is actually a NJ based station and has a good number of listeners in the tri-state suburbs.

They don't play tricks with the certifications with these digital singles do they? There isn't such a thing as "shipped gold" for digital stuff, right? She'll actually have to get to 500,000 to have a gold single with Over It, right? As for the LA stations...she just has to go with one of her more R&B songs to get it played on the radio in Los Angeles. Although I say that and KIIS is playing Kelly C's "Never Again" so I don't know. And they play Elliott. Hard to say.

I thought singles had to hit 1,000,000 for gold and albums got away with 500k because they're more expensive and may tend to sell less. Lowering the bar was kind of a nod to current reality or something.

Then it looks like she might be heading for a gold single, although I would expect OI to slow down when the second single hits.
