Kat's mom Peisha will be performing in LA and NYC at the end of May, and she would like nothing better than to sing to a room full of McPhans! Post here if you want to go, and maybe we can arrange for a table just for us. I'll be going to the Metropolitan Room in NYC most likely on Friday or Saturday.

That picture looks so much like Katharine it's amazing, especially for someone who was totally convinced that K. looked like her father. But something is slightly off, so the maniac in me took over and I spent about ten minutes trying to figure out what it was. The hair, high forehead and cheekbones are the same and maybe the eyes. It must be the nose. Is she sure she wants to be in the same room with a whole bunch of crazy McPhans?

However, it also looks a lot like Adrianna don't you think? Whatever, Peisha looks McPhabulous, lol!!!!

I heard back from Peisha the other night--and she told me this show is her main act that she's done for a while. And it's too bad there's no recorded copy somewhere we can buy or see online so those who can't attend can see what her performing style is like. This is cabaret, of course, though I've heard Peisha makes her show highly entertaining with some humor and strong attention to vocal quality on the standards she sings. You guys going are lucky...especially when you get the double fun of having a dessert and drinks while enjoying the show at the Metropolitan Room. Going to NYC for a great show like this while kicking back with a drink and a dessert is as good as it gets while absorbing the culture of the Big Apple. Yeah, I saw that promo pic the other day on Peisha's MySpace (go over there and check out her page if you haven't) and I was also amazed at the similarity to both Kat and Adriana there. I've found genetics to be strange and almost malleable in a lot of people. There seems to be something in the DNA that'll make offspring look like their father one day...and then their mother the next. I couldn't possibly try to explain it. It's almost a part of suffering for some children out there who get pummeled with "you look like so and so" every day. I've had to deal with that...and so have most of you too. Maybe it has something to do with lighting, but I've noticed that Kat looks more like her father when she's outdoors--and Peisha when indoors. Maybe it's because Kat squints more when outside in the sun and brings out her father's features more. Indoors, Kat shows her eyes off more. Peisha and Kat's eyes are identical...as well as their hair color and style. I still get amazed, though, when Peisha was on Keith Ablow's show and how most of us could have sworn it was Kat sitting there when the camera pulled back a few feet. Those attending the shows: Give a review (and take pictures) if you can in May/June. Peisha's gotten a lot of great reviews for her performing in the past...so a lot of people will probably be surprised that she can mesmerize an audience just as strongly as her famous daughter.

No, Peisha doesn't look like Adriana there. She looks like Katharine might look in 25-30 years (roughly). Yeah, I'm not sure Peisha really wants to be in a room with a bunch of fans of her youngest daughter. Or maybe she would I don't know. Hehehe.

Wow, Momma McPhee looks great in that picture! Not sure that I like the ridges on that dress, though - it's like somebody made a gown out of dyed Ruffles potato chips. :-O Does she have any song samples on the 'Net for us to listen to? For that matter, does Adrianna have anything up? I know Kat's sister didn't want to drag her parents through another gut-wrenching season of American Idol, but I would've loved to watch another McPhee sister make a deep run into the competition.

Am I nuts? www.myspace.com/peishafanspace ...And, yeah, Groucho...McPhee has the capital P there. All "Mc" names should have a capital letter after it, so that must be a misprint. Though there's a first-time discovery for everything. If you encounter an Irish "Mc" name that's all small letters, then let me know. By the way--thanks, Phil, for the info about Peisha's CD. I actually have been aware of that for quite a while (I even mentioned it for the first time on the 'AI' board when I first joined there last year)--and it really is a good CD if you like to hear standards sung in an intimate way. Peisha's vocal tone is just as pure as Katharine's--yet it's not so similar where they sound identical. They both have their own styles in approaching a song. Though you can tell Kat learned a lot about vocal control from her mother. Peisha's longtime accompanist, incidentally, is Mel Dangcil who'll also be on this show. He plays on the CD and he's a highly-regarded pianist. According to Kat in one interview a long time ago, she was given some valuable musical tips by Mel D as well as considering him sort of a godfather. Anyway, what I meant about finding a recorded copy of Peisha was in seeing a video of her act so we can visualize how she performs. I wish there was at least a video promo of her act so people could get a general idea of her show. Nevertheless, from all the reviews I've read from press interviews, she's one of the best cabaret singers around today. Oh, and Peisha told me she was looking forward to seeing a lot of the Kat fans at her shows...so don't think she wants to separate the two worlds. That's impossible at this point anyway. Sorry I won't be joining you all in NYC in May/June. Hopefully there's a better time and place down the road...

When i first looked at the pic I saw Kat, but I looked at it a little bit more and saw more of Adriana. All 3 of them are beautiful!! But nyway, yay for Peisha!!!!!!
