I’m with you rain or shine POST-PERFORMANCE (crowd goes absolutely crazy for Katharine) Katharine: Awesome. Thank you. Thanks. Thank you. Thanks.
Thanks to William, and everyone, for bringing Kat's journey on AI back to life for me. We all seemed to have very similar experiences.
There was downs as well as ups, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
I love the week to week reminder.
I 've been following the latest AI season, but it just leaves me cold.
Well...you must have sent it to me at some point because it was in my folder of Kat pictures when I punched in "Come Rain" or "CROCS" into the search function.
Shame on both of you and CRB for not consulting your Katpedia! What do you think we did that for???
7 seconds????
We have 4 different complete versions of Katharine doing CROCS on Star Search plus another real heartbreaker called "To Dream Again".
Permalink Here!
And yes, it was 2001, so she would have been 17.
Look at the post dates, Phee. I don't think they could be expected to know that you'd find those Ed McMahon videos.
oh geez - this thread is that old?
ok, I take it all back!
Oh come on, a Simon lashing always gets us back in shape anyway!
While I'm not a proponent of bringing back old threads--this one is worth coming back perenially as long as KMF exists. We just have to put a disclaimer on the outside of this thread that non-Kat comments don't necessarily reflect the year it was written.
Just for the record: I use Katpedia as much as possible when searching for Kat media I'm in the mood to see. It'd be insane to use any other source because...well, there isn't any other source or as comprehensive. I'm still at the stage for realizing that someone actually had the prescience to save all those Ed McMahon shows featuring Kat. Remember back when we thought such a thing was unfindable? Amazing that we can see every single one of the (underrated) performances there. And then I was floored when realizing that the alternate versions of "Come Rain or Come Shine" on different nights are actually (and nearly) as great as the one she did on Season Five of "AI."
That's quite a reversal from thinking Kat still had room to grow in her interpretive abilities during those Ed McMahon show years. I think most of realize now that she was nearly fully formed as an artist already then.
