Oddsmakers refuse to let Katharine's appearence in the bottom 3 dampen her chances of winning American Idol. The latest line has Chris 1:1.47 (68%), Kat 1:2.87(35%) and Taylor at 1:4.5(22%). Mandisa drops to 1:7.41 (13.5%) , Kellie falls to 1:11.62 (8.5%) and Ace plummets to 1:40 (2.5%) . Bucky hangs in at 1:150 (<1%). It seems the biggest effect of Kat's big scare was to pump up Chris's numbers. Do the oddsmakers know something we don't?

Just remember odds aren't who Vegas thinks are going to win, they are actually created to make equal betting. So Vegas will increase and decrease odds depending on the amount of bets they are getting for a particular person. Right now they are trying to get more people to vote for someone other than Chris. Hopefully the betters are right for voting for Katharine so much.

There were nearly a lot of people losing their money this week if those odds are accurate.

I wonder on what basis people are putting their money on Katharine; we know she is the most talented singer and I suppose up until this week I had hoped she had a good chance of winning. However to be in the bottom 2 so early is not a good sign and I would expect to see those odds lengthen before next weeks show.

Maybe some people should spend a little less time betting and a little more time voting.

Let’s hope she has got some fans out there that weren't voting before but have been woken up by how close she came to going home this week.

Its Amazing to see how Ace's numbers have dropped off. He was the early favorite according to a couple of articles I read (months ago it seems).

Those same articles had McPhee at the top of the girls list....nice to see the scare from Wednesday night has not effected her odds to much.

I think what happened this past Tuesday will improve her odds not hurt them. It woke everyone up and they will rise to the challenge and triumph over it.
