The glowsticks, distributed freely to fans who wanted them, were apparently to be used in lighting up Staples Arena with an orange light representing Katharine's tour color. Despite the efforts at confiscation, almost 2,000 sticks made it into the arena.
"It would have been wonderful for Katharine to look out upon the crowd and see all of those orange lights. Her fans at katharinefans.com had made quite an effort to make this a night she would always remember, but it just wasn't meant to be," said Glowmama, an organizing member from the popular fan site.
