ST. PAUL, Minnesota —

Katharine McPhee will return with her upcoming single, "Yellow Dress (The Girl Ya'll Love To Hate)" featuring Missy Elliott - this fall's female anthem. Her debut album, Rumors, is due in stores November 14, 2006.

"It's a girl power record — it's a lot of fun," Katharine said of the tune. "I don't take myself too seriously. It's one of those obnoxious things, and people will love it or hate it, and that's fine with me."

Katharine is shooting the "Yellow Dress" video in early October and releasing the track later that month.

Rumors will feature appearances from American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, Beastie Boys, and Paul Wall.

As for producers, Katharine is working with Scott Storc
