hiyah - just wanted to share - written by MY LOVE (Valentine 2006); Apologies may be off topic but permission granted to copy any lines etc.... hehheh

I ache to write a love song that I could sing
With sounds that echo the feelings I want to bring
To show in music how much I feel for you
To share the melody from my soul with you too

The song in my heart is one of joy and glee
Of being together as one, just you and me
Chimes of feelings of warmth and tenderness
Beats of emotion of love and happiness

I hear angels singing of seventh heaven divine
A harmony in my soul, contentment that you are mine
Trumpets sounding, heralding pleasure of my devotion
Cymbals crashing, passionate delight in my emotion

A song to shake the blues from its place
With a rhythm to shower love on your face
To show to you my Love its you that I adore
Always my tender Valentine now and evermore

Perhaps this question has already been asked but I would like to know how this process will work getting the poems to Kat. Are we going to have a address to mail our signed poems to and that person will compile them and send them to Kat in the binder? Thanks for anyone who can answer this, Cheryl

I was hoping to print out the poems on a high quality paper, then send them back to the authors for signature. Alot of effort, yes, but I wanted to have the uniformity of font, paper, etc, while maintaining the personization of the poems being hand signed. Then the finished poems and artwork will be hi-res scanned for the creation of bound books to be made available to participating McPhans as a keepsake. Of course there will need to be a per-copy charge for keepsake copies, with any additional funds collected above production costs to be donated to charity in Kat's name.

Thank you for your answer and yes that seems like a lot of work, but I understand wanting it to all be the same. More classy like her, but you know her down to earth self would love it any way...but still that's real great of you. How will we mail them back and forth to make sure they don't get messed up in the mailing process? I would probably send my work back to you in a priority 9x12 letter mailer, or whatever that size is, just because I know the post office, but for you to mail them to us that way would be very high. Could you not send them through email, let us sign them, hi-res scan them and then send them back via email? Or are you worried that some people don't have scanners?
I guess I'm just trying to save you a lot of work, but that's me trying to be helpful. However you decide works best for you, I'm sure we will do our part.
Thanks again

Speaking as someone who does not have a scanner, do we have to sign these? I know, it's more personal that way, but I never use my name on line anyway, so I don't really care. All the back-and-forthing sounds really complicated.

Also, what if we want to have some exposition along with the poetry itself? F'r'instance, I would want to keep my batch of poemlets grouped under a title of something like McHaikus, and a brief explanation of what they are (particular scansion peculiar to the haiku). Also since someone on here more or less gave me the idea for a poem, I'd like to acknowledge that as well, particularly as it might help explain the poem, if it needs it.

Signing the poems is optional, just an added touch of personalization. Of course you can just sign 'love, groucho' if you want. And Gary (katcrazy) is going to be our 'literary editor', so you should work out the details directly with him. He will be helping McPhans with their poetry, and organizing, arranging and formating the poetry. Trina has also accepted the position of 'art editior' for our project. She will be doing the cover art work, and maybe some other illustrations as well. Anyone interested in artisic contributions should contact her.

**Wow..this is a very, very cool idea. I have been looking for ways to exert my literary gams for a while now and I am very thankful I found this thread. I will most definitely be contributing for this. The only catch though is that i'm from overseas, can i just scan my signed work? I would really love for Kat to see how big her fanbase is, and by seeing that I'm from the Philippines, well, I hope that she could be blown away by that. I'm not only speaking for myself here, but for other McPhans outside America as well.

**And by the way, I can also help in the editing and layouting of the poetry book.

**Last one, I'm sure that Katharine not only inspires us to write poems, but other literary genres as well. How about we also allow short stories of McPhans' personal encounters with Kat as well? We could also include stories of those peeps who at some low point in their lives found inspiration through Kat and her journey to be where she is now. Of course, editing will be a bit tedious, as I'm sure there are many out there who are aching to share this with Kat and her family. Kinda like a

Dear shinamarih,

Thanks for your interest. Please do post your poetry contributions. (Probably best to do it in the other McPoetry Thread in this forum; most of the poems are there.) Thanks for offering your other services as well. We're good right now, but if it becomes relevant, I know where to find you

I'm sure something can be worked out regarding your signature.

Sorry your post got cut off mid-sentence.

Best,

Gary

Hey Gary,

Thanks a lot!! Silly me , my post wasn't cut mid-sentence, I just forgot to delete that last part. Anyway, thanks for considering my ideas. Good luck to all of us on this one.
