Howdy Kat Pack Street Teamers!!

I'm posting a blog dated January 2, 2007, from the Kat Pack Street Team's MySpace, which is the guidance we all should follow in requesting Kat's single.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Kat Pack Street Team is in direct communication with RCA, so all information and guidance is legit.

Lead Single is "Over It" - Start Requesting at LOCAL Radio Stations this Thursday, January 4th

Happy New Year, Kat Pack! It's finally here. Kat's new lead single, "Over It," is being shipped to radio stations today.

Street teamers should start requesting songs at LOCAL radio stations this Thursday, January 4. Be sure to focus on local radio stations and local station websites.  (The record label already has representatives handling airplay at major radio stations.)

For a list of local radio stations in your area:
  1. Go to www.Radio-locator.com or click on the Radio Locator link at the Kat Pack Street Team MySpace (www.myspace.com/katpackstreetteam);
  2. Enter your zip code;
  3. Choose LOCAL stations that play Top 40s, R&B (or Urban), Hot AC, and Adult Contemporary (AC).
  4. Make a list of their request line phone #s and email addresses;
  5. Call or email stations daily at different times of day (so that you speak with the DJs who fill different shifts).

Keep requesting until "Over It" is at #1 and then let's keep it there!
LET'S DO IT FOR KAT!

On Thursday, 93.7 WSTW is gonna KNOW about Kat's single. LOL if anyone wants to help, e-mail them at requests@wstw.com or talk to the musical director (nice guy, decides what they play) at mrossi@wstw.com

They have Chris in rotation right now and heavily played Kelly, Clay, Bo, and Kimberley Locke, so this should be no problem.

I was looking at all my local radio stations to get info on how to start requesting Kat on Thursday and I came across this quote on the web page of one of the hottest stations in SJ!   I will start requesting first thing on Thursday. In San Jose the stations and contacts I found are:

KBAY   94.5    (800)  948-5229
KWAV   96.9   (online at kwav.com)
KEZR   Mix 106.5   (408) 575-1065

Here's the quote from the radio station's website!

Big American Idol Winners: Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks

"The Big Winners Committee had Taylor listed first until we saw this!   Until Katharine drops her album Jan. 30, we'll be dreaming, uh, reading about her in Shape magazine. However, it's not surprising that a songbird who gets Kelly Clarkson comparisons is a hot commodity. Gray-haired, goofy dancer Taylor, who did win American Idol, just sold 298,000 copies of his new, self-titled album in its first week. They both make us proud."

Oh, and by the way the "this" they are talking about is....

Yeah, it doesn't seem like much of a contest, does it?  And this is why the finale should have been Chris vs Katharine.  The real American Idols of 2006.  I could handle finishing second to Mr. Daughtry.  He deserved it.  He didn't do it with gimmicks.  I'm sorry I'm sounding harsh on Taylor.  But I've been watching the Idol reruns on Fox Reality and I don't get it.  With time removed from it all...I don't get it.  I got it during the initial run but not anymore.  It totally should have been Chris & Katharine.

"I saw Katharine McPhee when there were about 12 contestants left on American Idol. She blew me away. I loved her grace, her style, her poise, her voice and her hair! I wanted her to be the face of Sexy Hair because she represented everything that I had in my head for the brand: youth, beauty, talent, class, a young sophistication, and sexiness." -- Jim Morrison, CEO of Sexy Hair Products.

THANKS Luv4!  I followed the link that was suggested and put in my zip so I got a pretty limited response probably.  I'll put Star on my list and look up their website for song request info.

I agree with Chris vs Kat. IMO Taylor won ONLY because all of Chris' and Elliott's fans were so pissed that Kat went to the final two.  I was reading alot of posts around then and what I saw gave me no hope for Kat winning, I KNEW she wouldn't win because of what I'd read. Chris and Elliott fans threw all their votes to Taylor just because they were mad about Kat. I read it over and over again "vote for Taylor"  and, as we know, Chris has a large fan base and combined with Elliott's...  Since it was so incredibly close between the three and with the majority of Chris fans voting Taylor...it was, sadly, inevitable.  I also think that's when all the hatred started too.  Although, I think in the end Kat won because she has her freedom from the AI franchise and she is going to be great anyway soooo.....

I agree, I think most Kat fans would have been much more comfortable with a Kat Chris finale. Although my second fave was Elliot I would have had far less trouble with Kat being runner up to Chris versus someone with probably the poorest vocal talent of any Idol winner yet.

Hi there. Been a long time since I last posted but I've been visiting here almost religiously everyday. I've got a question to ask. I know I probably need to start another thread cos it's not really relevant here but i dunno how, sorry. The question is - with Kat's single dropping on 4/12 ( which is today where i'm at ) will radio listeners outside of the US get to hear the song too? I mean, will they be shipping it to other countries on the same day or do we have to wait for like a month before we get anything? When SOTR/MD was out, I only heard SOTR about 3 times on the radio frm then till now and no MD at all. And Dangerous / ILY got no airplay at all. I'd like to be more involved this time and request for OI so that she gets more airplay. I'd also like to call out to other Katfans from Singapore - if you're here, holler back so that we can do somethng about this. Oh, just in case I wasn't very clear, I'm crazy about Kat.

I'm sure you can! Just e-mail and ask if they have received Katharine McPhee's new single "Over It" because you heard it and you love it. Once it gets added to the regular playlist, we can call and request it every day. I'll let you know if and when that happens. Thanks so much for your help!

I think she mean the Program Director who determines what songs get played on the radio.  Think we need to also send out email msgs to Program Directors too!
