There are several reasons why you are my American Idol. I look up to you for everything. I dont mean to scare you, but I adore you. You are gorgeous,talented,and just amazing. I myself, am a singer. I have been singing since I was 3. I am now 14 and have many confident problems with myself. I felt if I wasnt pretty I wouldnt go far with singing or just in life. You have taught me otherwise. You showed me go for anything and dont settle for less then what you want. I could go on all day on how the name Katharine McPhee means idol to me! I don't really know what to say (actually that's not true...I have so much to say but I don't want to take up too much of your time so...onto the letter!)
Just want to let you know how crazy you've made me. I mean really crazy. Some of these things I've been doing over the last five months or so since you entered my world have been just downright strange. I've never, ever felt this way about anybody I didn't actually know personally before. But there's something about you that I cannot get enough of. I'm buying magazines & watching shows on TV that I never really paid any attention to just to get my Katharine fix.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know how much I love and appreciate everything you do for your fans. We all adore you for it.Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet you in San Jose on the 30th. I'm going in Sacramento too but there's no shot that I'll be able to hang out afterward to maybe see you. We can't wait to get you back to your home state! We're so proud of you.Thanks again for everything...oh, and I hope your foot gets better as quickly as possible. This is my first letter to you (and my first post here on KMF, woohoo!). Honestly, I'm not good at writing letters, so I'll try to keep it as short as I possibly can, so as not to take off much of your time (if you ever get to read this, that is). I seriously had a hard time thinking what to say to you in this letter since there're just way too many things to say, but Katharine...I love you sooo much! I'm sooo proud of you. I have McPheever bad, so bad that my mind is at lost of words to describe how amazing you are. You've inspired me in every way, THAT beauty, THAT voice, THAT talent, THAT personality...in 1 person! it's so cool, now that I have someone as amazing as you to look up to as a role model, eventhough I'm 3 years older than you, I still can't believe it, I acted like a teenybopper everytime I saw you.
I so wish that I can go to one of your tours to watch your live performance and to maybe meet you in person. But unfortunately, I live far away in Asia. Though someday, I promise to myself, I will see you live. When that day finally arrives, I think I'll no longer be seeing Katharine McPhee the runner up of American idol season 5, because by then, you'll already be a superstar. But please don't let the high hopes bother you, I'm happy for as long as you're happy with your career and life. Whatever your dream is, I will always be there (like your other Mcphans) to support you.
Oh, there's also a little neat story I want to share with you. Today I looked up the word "Hope" (your middle name) in my Microsoft Encarta dictionary. And you know what came up in the quotation section? It's the lyrics of Somewhere over the rainbow! Coincidence or not, I think it's cool that your signature song came up when I searched for your middle name. Fingers cross that one day your star will soar, just like that happy little bluebirds, way up high, over the rainbow. I have McPhaith it will happen.
